Tom Hanks rumored to star in new Kathryn Bigelow film Triple Frontier(HMG Celebrity News) – Tom Hanks is rumored to be starring in the follow-up to Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-winning movie The Hurt Locker’.  The film’s producer, Charles Roven, confirmed as much to ComingSoon.net: “Tom Hanks is starring in the film and we’re still looking to cast the other roles.  We’re hoping to start shooting the movie sometime in mid-March.” Still Hanks rep. has not confirmed he has signed for the role so the deal might not be sealed yet.

The film is Bigelow’s first since the widely acclaimed The Hurt Locker, which told the story of bomb disposal teams in Iraq.   This new Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal scripted movie is set on the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, a notoriously difficult-to-police area and a well-known base for organized crime.

Hanks who last starred as the voice of Woody in the hugely successful Toy Story 3 has a number of projects lined up in 2011 and 2012, including the in progress ‘Larry Crowne’ alongside Julia Roberts and Bryan Cranston, and eagerly anticipated novel adaptation Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close with Sandra Bullock.  The 54-year-old actor is also likely to star opposite Halle Berry and Natalie Portman in the Wachowskis’ “Cloud Atlas.”
