At this week’s Hollywood premiere of The Lorax – a children’s film, ironically – Zac Efron reached into his pocket to hand an item to his assistant. But something else accidentally fell out and fell to the ground, in front of countless onlookers: A condom.

Zac Efron to Star in The Paperboy: First Poster

Zac Efron really is all grown up.
The former High School Musical actor will anchor his most mature movie to date in 2012, starring alongside Nicole Kidman, Matthew McConaughey, John Cusack and others in The Paperboy, an upcoming drama based on a 1995 novel by Pete Dexter.

The film focuses on a Miami Times reporter who comes back to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate. It’s not the only film to star Efron in the new year, either.

In this upcoming drama, the former High School Musical star takes on the role of a Marine who travels to North Carolina after serving multiple tours in Iraq because he believes a woman there (played by Taylor Schilling) was responsible for his well-being overseas.

Twitter blew up earlier today with Zac Efron supporters and detractors battling over whether the carefully cropped picture of a young male seemingly pleasuring himself hit the internet was actually the High School Musical star himself.
It certainly does look like him, although frankly, he might’ve just been snapped at the wrong moment. Efron still hasn’t responded to the allegations.

As you may have seen yesterday, Ryan Rottman was arrested in Hollywood for DUI. It turns out he was drinking with some actor friends including Zac Efron, and people now say Zac shares the blame for Ryan’s arrest.
Ryan was drinking at Dillon’s Irish Pub on Hollywood Boulevard with Zac, Rumer Willis [daughter of Bruce] and a few other pals, and this merry band is said to have downed no less than seven Kamikaze shots, eight mixed drinks and three or four beers. Then Ryan got into a car.
