American Idol Power Rankings: Scotty in Front, Stefano in Back

With the top seven on tap to perform tonight, THG’s American Idol Power Rankings break down who we like this week and who we think is likely to go home.

Of course, who we think leads the pack means very little in the end (you can ask Pia Toscano), but it’s still fun to try our hand at predicting the reality competition.

Take a look at how we size up the field and see if you agree:

1. Scotty McCreery. Kind of a sleeper favorite. He should go country this week and go far this spring, though. Take it to the bank (NOTE: don’t, actually).

2. James Durbin. We were willing to give metal a

Dancing With the Stars Recap: Hines Ward, Chris Jericho Lead Wide Open Field

Almost halfway through Dancing With the Stars’ 12th season, a clear favorite has yet to emerge. Monday’s scoring was so tight, it’s anybody’s Mirror Ball to win.

It’s America Week this week, and athletes who represent two of our nation’s favorite pastimes (okay, maybe that’s a stretch) delivered powerful performances.

The theme of “songs that salute our country” saw a red, white and blue dance floor and NFL star Hines Ward showing his American pride with this Rumba …

Dr. Conrad Murray on Michael Jackson Kids: "That’s My Children"

The feeling may not be reciprocal here, but that’s nice at least.

While out at The Grove in Los Angeles yesterday, a photographer caught up with Dr. Conrad Murray, who is awaiting involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Michael Jackson, and asked about the late King of Pop’s offspring.

His response: “That’s my children, I love them. I love them.”

Dr. Conrad Murray: Man on the Street

And this concludes your Dr. Conrad Murray update this week. It’s been fun. We’ll see if jurors show him similar love when his trial kicks off in late April.

American Idol Results Stunner: Who Went Home?

The first two elimination rounds of American Idol featured the surprising save of Casey Abrams, followed by a double ouster of Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia.

Was the third contestant voted off tonight someone we expected, or did the voters have another surprise up their sleeves after Wednesday’s performances?

Most pundits felt the Bottom Three would be made of Jacob Lusk, Paul McDonald and Stefano Langone. Two out of the three did in fact land there. But …

The third member of the trio in danger was someone no one saw coming, and not only did that person land in the bottom three, they’re

Jacob Lusk: The Man in the Mirror

Jacob Lusk was initially going to run with Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” on American Idol this week, but he decided to go with an alternate, less racy song:

Michael Jackson‘s “Man in the Mirror.”

Before leading off last night’s performances, he said that if he ends up in the Bottom Three, it’s ’cause America wasn’t ready to look themselves in the mirror.

Bold statement, but after his rendition of MJ’s moving classic, he may just escape that fate. Not knock-your-socks-off stuff, but pretty solid, don’t you think?

Tina Fey: Pregnant Again!

Forget the 30 Rock quotes she pens every week.

Tina Fey delivered two words during an interview with Oprah this week that will be far more memorable than anything Jack Donaghy has ever uttered: I’m pregnant.

During a chat that will air on April 12, the actress admitted she’s five months along with her and husband Jeff Richmond’s second child. Their first, a girl named Alice, is five years old.

Fey appeared on the program to promote her new memoir, Bossypants, which went on sale this week. We’re so happy for the funniest woman on television!

Adam Lambert Creates Wasted Ruckus at Lady Gaga Birthday Party

Did Adam Lambert really pull a Christina Aguilera this week?

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton called in to the Morning Dish radio program yesterday and says he was present at Lady Gaga’s 25th birthday party Sunday night, serving as a witness when the former American Idol finalist showed up “beyond drunk” and was asked to leave.

He was “super sloppy embarrassingly drunk,” Hilton told the hosts.

Lambert reportedly wasn’t even invited to the bash. He attended as a guest of the Scissor Sisters, who have been opening on tour for the artist.

A fellow party goer says Lambert was pounding on

Justin Bieber Covers Rebecca Black, Britney in Concert

It doesn’t take much for Justin Bieber to make fans go crazy in concert. His mere appearance does it every time.

But the 17-year old really had audience members screaming during a tour stop this week when he asked what single they wanted to hear. Between shrieks for “Baby,’ Justin broke into a couple quick covers.

He sampled “Friday” by Rebecca Black and then “Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. Eventually, Justin gave in to his supporters’ demands, of course. Watch the fun unfold now:

The Hollywood Gossip is proud to present another edition of The Pulse, where our staff recaps all of the day’s biggest events in celebrity news and gossip.

Lauren Alaina Gets Her Swagger On

Who needs a stage?

Lauren Alaina quickly abandoned it this week, sauntering around to the audience and singing her cover of a Supremes single (“You Keep Me Hangin’ On”) directly to the judges at times.

The county twang in Lauren’s voice goes well with this Motown selection, as Randy offered up nothing but praise to the young contestant: “She’s now got her swagger on. She’s ready! She’s ready!”
