A man in New Zealand would rather spend time behind bars than in front of his television.
Senior Constable Paul Nicholas confirms that a Whangarei resident told police on Tuesday that he’s “run out of Xbox games to play” and would therefore prefer to spend the final month of his 11-month detention sentence in jail.
The unidentified individual is 19 years old and made it clear that he would violate the terms of his house arrest if authorities did not take him in.
They abided and he is now an inmate at Ngawha prison.
For some, it’s clear Xbox One cannot arrive quickly enough.

Cam Newton won the NFL’s Rookie of the Year Award last year, but the prolific passer is now after something far more important.
An ongoing fan vote to determine who should grace the cover of wildly-poplar video game Madden ’13 is down to the Carolina Panthers quarterback and Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions.
And in an attempt to win over the masses, Newton has released a lengthy video, pleading to boys, girls, cat and dogs that he deserves the honor. On what grounds?

Poor Lana Del Ray.
The singer seems perfectly nice, and she clearly has some talent, but the artist was overwhelmed on her Saturday Night Live debut yesterday, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot during a rendition of “Video Games,” randomly rubbing her hip, lacking any and all energy or emotion.
Del Ray mumbled in to the microphone and rushed through her lyrics, as the faces of her backup band members even look horrified on her behalf. See the trainwreck for yourself and join us in wishing Lana better luck next time. If there is a next time for her, that is…More >
If you aren’t familiar with Aubrey Plaza and the tremendous Parks and Recreation quotes she produces every Thursday as apathetic intern April … we pity you.
You’re really missing out. Just saying.
Fortunately, you can get to know a little bit about her in this new ad for the epic gaming addiction World of Warcraft, in which the actress basically plays the same character.
Which is basically her in real life.
She rules. We’d feel sorry for the guy she dumped in favor of WoW, but he sort of asked for it by turning her on to the nationwide obsession in the first place:More >

Michael Jackson was no stranger to video games, I use to play Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker on my Sega all the time, throwing around Michael’s hat in an attempt to thwart the plans of bad guys. Now we’ve come to learn that a new game is set to be released by Ubisoft before the end of the year.
The game is still untitled at this time but is being deemed a “dance karaoke” type game. It should be interesting to see how gamers pull off the moonwalk on a dance pad.
