A&E Cancels Intervention: Sorry, Amanda Bynes

Sorry, Amanda Bynes. A&E has taken away your opportunity for televised substance abuse assistance.

The network announced this week that it has canceled Intervention, though five new episodes remain and will kick off on Thursday, June 13.

“As ‘Intervention’ comes to an end, we’re proud to have paved the way for such an original and groundbreaking series,” said A&E and BIO Channel Executive VP David McKillop.

“We’re honored to have been a part of the 243 interventions since its premiere in March of 2005, leading to the 156 individuals that are currently sober to this day.”

Rumer Willis Cast on Pretty Little Liars Season 4

Rumer Willis has booked a ticket to Rosewood.

The occasional actress (she recurred last year on 90210) will appear in at least one episode of Pretty Little Liars Season 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter, coming on board as a charity event organizer.

No other details are available at this time, but Willis will stop by the ABC Family smash in July.

The wildly popular series returns on June 11 and will air new episodes all summer long.

It will then introduce characters from its spinoff, Ravenswood, on the annual Halloween special. We can’t wait!

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland: First Trailer!

Earlier today, ABC released its 2013-2014 schedule, surprising folks with the inclusion of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland on Thursday nights.

The network had initially said this Once Upon a Time spinoff would air when the original program went on hiatus for the winter… but executives apparently had other ideas.

And now ABC has unveiled a full-length trailer for Wonderland, which tells the tale of Sophie Lowe as Alice and is set in a Victorian England, on the other side of the rabbit hole, of course.

ABC Shows Canceled: Which Got the Axe?

But ABC upset millions of viewers last night when the network also announced that a few established shows will not be included on its fall schedule.

Those receiving the axe include:

AMC has released the first photo of The Walking Dead Season 4, and it depicts Andrew Lincoln’s embattled leader not-exactly-alone in the woods.

Who is that figure standing in the shadows? Fans of this cable smash will need to wait until October to find out.

The Walking Dead surged to record ratings throughout its third season, often defeating its non-cable competition among the key advertising demographic of 18-49-year olds.

AMC is yet to announce an official premiere date for Season 4, but production got underway on Monday of this week.

Utah Affiliate Refuses to Air The New Normal, Labels Gay-Based Sitcom "Inappropriate" for Families

KSL-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah airs Law & Order: SVU on Wednesday nights. That program centers on such horrific crimes as rape and murder.

But the NBC affiliate has drawn its objectionable line at The New Normal, an upcoming sitcom from Glee creator Ryan Murphy that focuses on a gay couple and the family of its surrogate mother.

“For our brand, this program simply feels inappropriate on several dimensions, especially during family viewing time,” Jeff Simpson, CEO of KSL’s parent company, Bonneville International, said in a statement.
