Gangster Squad Trailer: Pulled from Theaters in Face of Dark Knight Rises Massacre

In the wake of today’s horrific Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado, Warner Bros. has chosen to pull the trailer for another movie out of theaters.
The preview for Gangster Squad, which has been online since May and is posted below, was NOT played prior to this morning’s Batman feature and has NOT been attached to most of The Dark Knight Rises screenings around the country.
Still, one scene does depict mobsters opening fire inside a movie theater and, with the spot scheduled to start running nationwide this weekend, the studio thought it was inappropriate to air at such a time.

The Amazing Spider-Man doesn’t hit theaters until July 3 of next year, but the first trailer has been released, and should only fuel the buzz for the film.
Originally, Spider-Man 4 was planned for release in summer 2011, but the film was cancelled due to director Sam Raimi’s withdrawal from the project.
Sony, in turn, decided to reboot the big-name franchise with new director Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans leading the cast.

In December, Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig will anchor The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the first of Stieg Larsson’s beloved novels. The drama will be directed by David Fincher.

Baby Drinks Heavily, Trashes Bar in Las Palmas

If you haven’t seen this before, the headline sums it up. It’s a fun viral video of a little tyke consuming too much booze and trashing a par off the coast of Spain.
Pretty standard, really. Europeans start drinking so early in life.
This trailer for the short movie, entitled Las Palmas, was created by Johannes Nyholm (click here for the full version). The music really makes it classic:

The Hangover 2 Trailer: Yanked From Theaters!

Just a week after the release of the extended trailer for The Hangover Part 2, it’s been yanked from theaters, specifically after it was shown before Source Code.
Why? Because it looked so much like the original that the mystery is gone? Because of the banana scene? Because Jake Gyllenhaal didn’t want to be upstaged?
No one really knows, but director Todd Phillips says it’s not because it’s too graphic. In fact, he insists it’s “too PG-13″ to show what the movie’s really about.

Russel Brand “Arthur” Movie Trailer

If you’re a fan of Dudley Moore’s 1981 comedy classic Arthur you’ll want to check out the trailer below for an upcoming remake of the movie which features the very funny Russell Brand and the always capable Helen Mirren and Luis Guzman.
The movie hits theaters on April 8 with Brand playing the drunken billionaire who will lose his inheritance if he doesn’t marry the woman his family has chosen for him, a role played by another actress favorite of mine, Jennifer Garner.

But you will be seeing more footage than ever before from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The fourth installment in this beloved franchise, the movie comes out on May 20, features Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow and introduces Penelope Cruz as his love interest.
