Might Brooke Shields be in?
With The View set to undergo some serious changes – neither Hasselback nor Joy Behar will return next season – sources tell Showbiz 411 that this beautiful actress is set to join the ABC talk show panel.
Barbara Walters is apparently a huge fan of Shields because she’s the right age (47), is a Princeton graduate and is also a mother.
Shields will play a significant role this spring on Army Wives Season 7. But will she play a welcome role on The View?

Kim Kardashian was a guest on The View this afternoon.
Sorry, the NEW and IMPROVED Kim Kardashian, we should say, as the reality star responded to questions about her divorce from Kris Humphries by rattling on about how she’s changed SO much since that relationship and how she now values the “small things” in life, such as “time.”
What about Kanye West?
Kardashian said she hopes she is now in a “permanent relationship” with the rapper who appreciates her porn career and explained her recent gift to him of a Lamborghini by explaining:
“He’s been there toMore >
Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga and Kathy Wakile of The Real Housewives of New Jersey appeared on The View yesterday. But the castmates did not do so as a group.
Due to what she referred to as “family issues,” Giudice refused to conduct her interview alongside Gorgoa and Wakile, telling the co-hosts:
“We have family issues that we need to resolve and I didn’t think that today was the appropriate time, you know, in front of an audience and it to be done in just a few minutes.”
We gotta give props to the Bravo producers for staging this controversy and finding a way to extend the feud beyondMore >
President Barack Obama fielded questions about the economy, gay marriage, Fifty Shades of Grey – all the key issues – with the women of The View this week.
He corrected Elisabeth Hasselbeck when she described the President’s and Mitt Romney’s position on gay marriage as essentially the same. Not so, he says.
Obama discussed the JP Morgan banking crisis and much more in what was a pleasant, but ultimately forgettable and unnecessary visit to the daytime gab-fest.
There were some substantive policy discussions during his brief visit, but the highlight, at least from THG’s perspective, wasMore >
There was a pretty intense showdown on The View yesterday.
Bill Maher appeared on the program, months after making a crack that the U.S. should have sent Elisabeth Hasselbeck to Egypt in exchange for Lara Logan after that CBS journalist was attacked there in February.
Soon after taking a seat on the couch, and making a statement in defense of women with regard to the Jerry Sandusky mess at Penn State, the comedian was asked by the host about this joke. He explained that he lived “on the edge” and it wasn’t personal and his audience is HBO… but Hasselbeck was NOT letting Maher off the More >
Appearing on The View yesterday to hype her new album, the original American Idol cited her hometown of Burleson, Texas and explained:
“I’m from a small town so, like, everyone’s married with children or about to have children. So it’s a little hard when you go home and people are like – and that’s why people think I’m gay – because they’re like ‘Why aren’t you married?’ And I’m like, ‘it doesn’t happen for everyone right off theMore >
Katie Couric was a guest host on ‘The View’ yesterday and after a pleasant chat with the girls about fashion, Katis confessed she’d like to ‘castrate’ Miley Cyrus.
Kate, 54, explained she’d seen a photo of Miley smoking a cigarette and thought that set a bad example for the singer’s thousands of fans. As a mother herself she considers Miley a bad influence on young minds.
Whoopi Goldberg, who is also a smoker, told Katie she didn’t consider herself a bad influence on children and should be free to pursue a few grown-up indulgences, just as 18-year old Miley should.

Justin Bieber was only given a couple minutes to run down a Top 10 List on The Late Show with David Letterman last night.
But the women of The View were far more accommodating to the singer this morning, letting him actually walk out on stage with them and treating him like one of their own.
With the star on hand to promote his new perfume, Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Justin to sing her something (he obliged with a few notes of “Never Say Never”) and then she challenged him to a Segway race!
Who won? Watch and find out:
We knew he loved fame, money, himself, and bloviating about everything under the sun. But who knew Donald Trump was a complete buffoon?
Swaggering onto The View today to promote The Celebrity Apprentice, Trump, who’s pondering a White House run, also brought up a political issue.
One that landed him in hot water with Whoopi Goldberg.
Of President Obama, who he thinks he can beat, Trump asks: “Why doesn’t he show his birth certificate? I want him to show his birth certificate!”
“There’s something on that birth certificate that he doesn’t like,” said Trump, defyingMore >
Every now and then, The View stops being about headline-grabbing antics and actually gets real. Today was one of those occasions.
With everyone from Dr. Drew to Joan Rivers chiming in on Charlie Sheen’s latest scandal/attempt to get clean, Whoopi Goldberg took a few minutes to relate to this troubled actor. She, too, was a drug addict.
“I was a functioning drug addict, I showed up for work because I knew a lot of people would be out of work and I wouldn’t get a check that I needed to buy my drugs,” Whoopi said.
How low did Goldberg sink?

As her war of words with Joy Behar continued to escalate, Jersey Shore star Snooki decided to be the bigger person (for the first time in the 4’9″ pip squeak’s life).
On the Wendy Williams Show earlier in the week, Snooki apologized for tangling with The View host. Wednesday, Behar officially accepted Snooki’s mea culpa.
Joy’s amusing response, in light of Snooki’s drunken antics this week: “I found the apology quite sobering – maybe that’s not the right word.” Watch it here …
The bad blood started when Joy admitted on air that she has a “visceralMore >
While almost everything written in Kardashian Konfidential is vapid nonsense, Khloe Kardashian actually does offer a useful story in the biography she penned with her sisters.
This reality star lost her virginity at the age of 14 to an older man, someone she often snuck out of the house to meet. Asked about that incident by panelists on The View yesterday, Khloe used her experience to try and help others.
“Looking back… I felt persuaded because he was older and I felt I wouldn’t be accepted or cool or whatever.”
“I felt so disgusted withMore >
The View panel left Bill O’Reilly alone for five seconds today and tag-teamed another political lightning rod: Wasilla, Alaska mayoral hopeful Levi Johnston.
On the program, the man who knocked up Bristol Palin tried and failed to explain his bid for mayor of his hometown, saying you don’t need qualifications.
Hey, that’s less ridiculous than him claiming he has any.
Levi Johnston is eyeing Sarah Palin’s old office.
When asked by Barbara Walters what his qualifications are, Johnston said the job doesn’t call for any and his lack of experience shouldn’t be an impediment.

Last Thursday, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar stormed off the set of The View after Bill O’Reilly said Muslims attacked us on 9/11 and added that he was against the building of a mosque around the site of the World Trade Center.
He then went on his Fox News program and defended his point of view.
Now, Goldberg, Behar and other panelists on The View have spoken out again on the feud. Focusing on the controversy this morning, Goldberg said she had no regrets about walking away mid-interview because she “was gonna cuss him out.”
Behar, meanwhile, said: “We talk about standing up to bigotry,More >
Bill O’Reilly appeared on The View today. But he wasn’t exactly treated like a welcome guest.
As soon as the topic turned to the proposed mosque around the site of 9/11, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar got into it with the Fox News anchor. He argued that 70% of the country was against the Muslim center and that it was “inappropriate,” albeit clearly constitutional, to erect.
They argued that people should be smart/tolerant enough to differentiate between a religion and the extremists within that religion. At least that’s what we think both sides said, as voices were raised and opinions flewMore >
