American Idol Exit Interview: Karen Rodriguez on What’s Next
Karen Rodriguez was eliminated from American Idol last week. After wiping off her makeup and hugging goodbye to all the finalists, the aspiring singer says she took the long view.
She told E! News:
“I always lived by the words ‘Everything happens for a reason,’ and there have been so many instances in my life where I’ve lost some things and you don’t really know why [at the time], but in a few days or a few months I will see why. Maybe if I would have stayed in the competition longer, there would have been an opportunity I might have missed out on.”

Pia Toscano Plans Ahead
She seemingly came out of nowhere, but Pia Toscano is here to stay.
The American Idol finalist, who received little air time prior to last week’s sterling rendition of “I’ll Stand By You,” was thrust to the forefront of the competition after earning the first standing ovation of the season from the judges for her semifinal performance.

Dancing With the Stars Judge: No More Palins, More Same-Sex Couples!
Between Bristol’s run to the finals and reports that her father, Todd, may be next, many people can’t get enough of the Palins on Dancing With the Stars.
One judge on the show certainly can, though.
“I think one Palin was enough,” Carrie Ann Inaba told E! News, responding to Todd Palin speculation. “I think we need to go on a Palin vacation for a bit.”
Palins mean ratings, but that’s not enough to sway one judge.
“Although it was such great media attention, I think it was too controversial,” Inaba explained. “I think people got confused about what they were rooting for”

Jackass 3D Takes Top Spot At Weekend Box Office
What do you get when you mix fart and penis jokes? The best box office opening weekend in 3 months, that’s what!
Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O and the rest of the Jackass 3D Team raked in $50 million during this past weekends opening take, making them the most successful movie since Inception debuted three months ago and the best 3D opening since Despicable Me debuted three and a half months ago.
The team of pain beat out Red, The Social Network, Secretariat and other various scripted movies for the win.

National “Glee” Casting Call Cancelled
It’s a sad day for anyone who was hoping to land a spot on the hit Fox TV show Glee. Producers of the U.S. hit have called off their national open audition search for the shows next character.
Fox producers announced in March that they were looking for someone between the ages of 16-26 to appear on the show, stating that the winner would be featured during the second season of the show. The call for talent led to many Gleeks (Glee fans) to upload their video performances to MySpace while singing along to their favorite Glee covered tunes.

Simon Cowell to Stage World’s Got Talent
The dreams of Simon Cowell are about to come true.
No, he won’t be tar and feathering Ryan Seacrest.
Instead, the American Idol judge will be staging World’s Got Talent some time in 2011, a reality show that will bring together a number of acts from across the globe.
The event will be held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, as sources say Simon has wanted to do the competition since 2007, when Britain’s Got Talent first aired.
