Heidi Klum to Judge America’s Got Talent

Howie Mandell and Howard Stern are officially the luckiest men in the country.

NBC sources have confirmed to TMZ that Heidi Klum will join the cast of America’s Got Talent this summer, becoming the show’s four judge alongside the aforementioned gentlemen and newcomer Melanie Brown.

Sharon Osbourne resigned from the series last year.

Note to readers: Excuse us while we go set a series recording for America’s Got Talent.

Klum, of course, has plenty of reality show experience, having hosted Project Runway for many years.

America’s Got Talent Recap: Lightly Sweetened Contestants

Following an Olympic hiatus and controversy from Sharon Osbourne, America’s Got Talent returned last night and gave the viewers what they were after: competition.

Read on for a rundown of each contestant…

Clint Carvalho & His Extreme Parrots – I was nervous that we’d have to listen to a talking Parrot, but getting a diving bird sounded amazing. After a really long explanation and asking an obvious question of “Is it raining?” we watched a bird fly from a building to the stage while listening to a guy saying “Here kitty kitty kitty” a billion times. I would rather see a hawk trying to eat

America’s Got Talent Results: Who’s In?

The votes were in. The eliminations were announced. The tension was palpable on America’s Got Talent last night.

Read on for a rundown of who advanced and who is going home…

Elimination 1 – MusicWhen Nick Cannon called the first three acts, it was clear who was safe. In comparison to the other two, Shanice & Maurice were the only ones that the judges even gave positive feedback to with their live performance. Harkening back to how good one was in Vegas won’t help a public that may have only tuned in this week.

The obvious point is that all these acts can’t have an off week like American

Tim Poe Apologizes for "Incomplete Facts" Given on America’s Got Talent

Timothy Poe has come clean. Sort of.

The America’s Got Talent contestant who claimed during his Monday night audition that he suffered brain damage as the result of an explosion in Afghanistan – and originally stood by the story in the face of mounting criticism – now admits he had his facts wrong.

“It may not have happened exactly like I said it did,” Poe told The New York Post. “I really do not remember a lot of things since the accident.”

Poe, an engaged father of two, still says a “blast” went off near his head (and provided the newspaper with documents to prove it) during combat, but

America’s Got Talent Results: Who Survived?

After a night of mediocre performances Tuesday, the preview for last night clearly set the five performers up even before the eliminations took place.

There was nothing surprising about this week’s America’s Got Talent results except for the fact that America didn’t mind the more flamboyant efforts.

Let’s break down how it all played out …

Eliminations, Part 1: The Rhinestone Ropers, Thomas John, Silhouettes – The Rhinestone Ropers failed because they thought that an animal performance would have been dynamic, but after so many failed bird acts it was inevitable that they would be cut.

America’s Got Talent: Reigning in Seattle?

America’s Got Talent headed to Seattle this week, with the show losing credibility every time Howie tries to let in lemon acts such as the Paper Horn Man.

The evening didn’t impress me much and I was surprised the producers decided kept this episode alone when tomorrow’s previews were miles better than most of the auditions this week. For the highs and lows, read on…

The HighsSeattle’s First Contestant, impressionist Melissa Villasenor, was probably the best opening for a talent show in a while. Comedians/impressionists don’t normally succeed on the show, but she was almost pitch perfect

Lauren Alaina: Born to Fly on American Idol

Lauren Alaina sometimes holds something back on stage. Not last night.

It’s true that, in covering Sara Evans’ hit “Born to Fly,” she stayed close to the original version. But it’s a great country song to stick close to the original of.

Will she spread her wings and truly fly to new heights this season on Idol? If this performance is any indication, she’s still scratching the surface of her talent:

Glenn Close To Star In Susan Boyle Biopic

Here’s a movie I’ll be avoiding like the plague. Susan Boyle will be played by Glenn Close in a new biopic which follows Boyle’s rise to fame.

I personally can’t think of a worse idea for a movie, will Glenn Close be sitting on a couch with all her cats for 40+ years, then audition for Britain’s Got Talent? Then…well…the end.

Okay not fair on my part, well not fully, but honestly Boyle just started her career and a biopic seems quite premature. According to UK reports Close will play Boyle as she auditions for the talent show and then through the last several years in which she has released

“I Dreamed A Dreamed” Auto-Tuned For Susan Boyle Performance?

Susan Boyle may have wowed audiences around the world with her “I Dreamed A Dream”  performance on Britain’s Got Talent but now an insider told UK newspaper The Evening Standard that the performance was auto-tuned.

Boyle’s performance made her a worldwide singing sensation big enough to sing at an upcoming meeting with the Pope, while racking up nearly 50 million YouTube views.

According to the insider, just like allegations over Simon Cowell allowing X-Factor auto-tuning over the last week, the performance given by Boyle’s was tweaked before it went live.

“The exact same techniques are

Sony Picks Up Meryl Streep-Tina Fey Mother-Daughter Comedy

(HMG) – It’s nice to see movies these days, now being built around the talent and star power of women. Sony, which made Streep’s Julie & Julia last year – has acquired the film rights to the Meryl Streep-Tina Fey mother-daughter comedy Mommy & Me, which will be directed by Stanley Tucci. Joby Harold (”Awake”) wrote the treatment, which is said to “spotlight the thorny and funny sides of mother-daughter relationships. No word yet on whether Tucci has any plans to be involved on-camera as well, as he did in both “The Devil Wears Prada” and “Julie & Julia” with Streep.

Jennifer Hudson Describes Tragic Family Murders as a "Blur," Speaks Out for First Time

It doesn’t get much more tragic than the news Jennifer Hudson received in October 2008: her mother, brother and nephew were all found dead.

As a sad reminder: on October 24,

Simon Cowell to Stage World’s Got Talent

The dreams of Simon Cowell are about to come true.

No, he won’t be tar and feathering Ryan Seacrest.

Instead, the American Idol judge will be staging World’s Got Talent some time in 2011, a reality show that will bring together a number of acts from across the globe.

The event will be held at London’s Royal Albert Hall, as sources say Simon has wanted to do the competition since 2007, when Britain’s Got Talent first aired.

“This has been Simon’s dream. It will be the biggest reality show the world’s seen,” said an insider.
