ABC Cancels Soaps All My Children and One Life to Live

(HMG Celebrity News) – How is Susan Lucci going to get nominated for Emmys now? ABC announced that long running daytime mainstays All My Children and One Life to Live will go off the air in September and January, respectively. Both soaps are being replaced by health-related talk shows. The twin cancellations will leave James Franco’s playground General Hospital as the network’s only remaining daytime drama. And just four soaps total will be on the air — General Hospital on ABC, Days of Our Lives on NBC, The Young & The Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful on CBS.

‘Day Of Our Lives’ To Feature First “Gay Centered Storyline”

45 years ago Days Of Our Lives took to the airwaves and now NBC has announced that the daytime drama will finally introduce their first “gay centered storyline.”

Details about the storyline have not been divulged, however a production insider says that more than likely a current cast member will hook up with a member of the same sex and that the storyline will debut in the next few months.

The move is the first time an NBC daytime show has tackled the homosexuality issue since 2006 when the now cancelled show Passions featured a gay arc.

All My Children Cancellation Rumors Are Flase Says ABC

Relax All My Children fans, your beloved Soap Opera  and the world of Pine Valley, PA it occupies is not going anywhere. That announcement comes from ABC who but an end to rumors today that the ABC Daytime show was ending it’s 40+ year run.

Yes it’s true that ABC according to insiders wants to reduce their daytime lineup from three hours to two, but they have said that AMC is safe, despite delivering consistently lowered Nielsen ratings in recent weeks. However, the network also cut show costs last year by moving the shows production from New York City to Los Angeles.
