Scotty McCreery Falls Off Stage, Blames Brad Paisley for Mishap
Forget the trouble with girls. Scotty McCreery had some trouble with a concert stage on August 10.
The American Idol singer took a tumble last night during a show in Bethel, New York, opening for Brad Paisley and falling off the stage around the 8:14 mark of the following video:
Fortunately, McCreery survived with both his body and his sense of humor intact.
“Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again,” Scotty Tweeted after the incident. “he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song.”

It’s a great time to be Scotty McCreery.
The American Idol champion releases his debut album (“Clear as Day”) in a week and has also just announced that he’ll tour with country superstar Brad Paisley in 2012!
Cities, dates and other details will soon be released, but Scotty has Tweeted how “it’s really humbling that somebody like him would invite me to tour w/ him,” adding: “I just hope i’m ready for any pranks he throws my way.”

American Idol Final Four Take the Stage in Atlanta
There’s no rest for the talented.
Just days after they all performed on the season 10 finale of American Idol, champion Scotty McCreery and the rest of the final four took to the stage again in Atlanta. They were on hand to help open a new Microsoft store in the city.
On a hot afternoon, Scotty performed “I Love You This Big,” “Gone” and “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” while Lauren went with “Flat on the Floor” and “Like My Mother Does.” Haley Reinhart and James Durbin also belted out a few singles, all of which are posted below. Watch and enjoy!

In the wake of Scotty McCreery’s American Idol triumph, the country is asking multiple questions today?
- Did he deserve to win? It’s debatable.
- Are Lauren and Scotty dating? No.

Jake Busey to Check Into Rehab
Jake Busey plans to check himself in to a rehab facility for substance abuse issues next week after being hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.
The actor explained how he woke up in an L.A. hospital this week after having “a little too much fun” with booze. He’s very candid about it.
Jake insists he’s determined to get himself on a “straight path to clean living” and will take rehab seriously. Here’s hoping that he does.

American Idol Crowns Season 10 Champion
A record 122 million votes were cast this week on American Idol. And, after all were tallied, who did viewers crown the champion?
Following an evening that included special performances by Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Bono, The Edge, Gladys Knight, Tony Bennett, Steven Tyler and more, Ryan Seacrest made the announcement that led to screams and cheers from the crowd.
“Never in my wildest dreams,” Scotty said upon being crowned victor. “I gotta thank the Lord. He got me here.”

Long before it airs a single episode, there’s already been a shake-up on The X-Factor.
Cheryl Cole, the most popular panelist on the British version of Simon Cowell’s singing competition, has been replaced as judge by Nicole Scherzinger, who had been slated to host the show with Steve Jones.
Sources say there was a “lack of chemistry” between Cole and Abdul and that producers actually believed the former’s English accent would be too heavy for viewers to understand. No word yet on whether or not Jones will now host the show alone.

Jared Lee Loughner Deemed Incompetent to Stand Trial, Restrained After Courtroom Outburst
The man accused of six murders and nearly killing U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona is not mentally fit to stand trial, a judge ruled Wednesday.
U.S. Marshals dragged Jared Lee Loughner out of the courtroom because of an angry outburst as family members of the victims looked on in court.
The clearly disturbed Loughner lowered his head, raised it and said what sounded like “Thank you for the freak show. She died in front of me.”
His words were loud but mumbled, and it wasn’t clear who he was talking about. He wore a khaki prison suit and sported bushy, red sideburns.
