Andy Samberg Confirms Saturday Night Live Departure

Confirming rumors that have been circulating for months, and which were punctuated by his performance of Lazy Sunday 2 on the Saturday Night Live season finale last month, Andy Samberg has confirmed that he’s exiting the iconic sketch show.
“It’s an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life,” Samberg told The New York Times yesterday in a telephone interview. “Obviously it’s not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back.”
Samberg joined SNL in 2005 and went on to become the master of the Digital Short. He can also do a mean impression of Nicholas Cage.

Mark Zuckerberg Appears On Saturday Night Live

With Jesse Eisenberg, star of The Social Network hosting SNL last night, it was the perfect time for Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, to make his primetime debut and that’s exactly what happened.
Here’s a video of Eisenberg opening the show with the help of The Zuck (He appears part way through the opening monologue):
I personally enjoyed the “I invented poking” line Zuckerberg delivered, even if he did seem to feel a bit akward standing on the live stage of Saturday Night Live, but who could blame the guy, he’s not a trained actor.

Producers at late night sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live are rumored to be going after Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg for a guest spot on this weekends show.
Jessie Eisenberg, the star of The Social Network will be hosting the show, which is sure to poke fun at Facebook and Zuckerberg in some way.
Eisenberg has earned an Oscar Nomination for his work on the movie and as much as Zuckerberg has claimed the movie is far from real life, he’s never personally attacked Eisenberg for his role in the movie, which could make getting him on the show a bit easier.

Vanessa Hudgens may have plans to drown her sorrows in alcohol, but at least she won’t be doing it alone.
The actress, who turned 22 on Tuesday and who split with longtime boyfriend Zac Efron this month, will be feted with a much-hyped birthday party in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
While this sounds like a Kim Kardashian-esque cry for attention, such trauma in Hudgens’ personal life makes it understandable. She just needs a bit of love and a slew of shots. Be happy and be healthy, Vanessa. Have a blast!

Michael Jackson Memorabilia Brings in $500,000 at Auction

(HMG Celebrity News) – Julien’s Auctions had their “Icons & Idols” auction Saturday night in Beverly Hills, featuring over 100 items from the Michael Jackson’s stage wardrobe and career including a custom-made costume for his friend and companion Bubbles the chimp.
A lone glove worn by the King of Pop during the “Bad” tour in the late 1980s sold for $330,000 at the “Icons & Idols” auction Saturday night, while a jacket signed by Jackson brought in $96,000 and a fedora he wore on stage went for $72,000 at the Julien’s Auctions event.

Justin Bieber Debuting “Never Say Never” During MLB World Series Game 3

Justin Bieber will world premiere his new single “Never Say Never” during Game 3 of the 2010 MLB World Series. The game will be played this Saturday.
The debut will come during the games pre-show in Arlington, Texas at 6:30 PM ET. After the Beibs makes his debut Kelly Clarkson will sing the national anthem.
I thought the only reason I had for skipping this years competition was the Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants, a special thanks to Bieber for giving me a third reason.
Justin Bieber’s new album drops on Nov. 23.

Two days after his wife was found dead, an America’s Got Talent contestant named Joe Finley has made a public plea: Someone killed her!
Laura Finley was found dead in a stairwell at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles on early Saturday morning. She was in town because Joe wanted to audition for the NBC competition.
Considered a person of interest, Joe was actually arrested for drug possession the day Laura died. He’s admitted both he and his wife were on ecstasy the night she was found and that he last saw Laura alive around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

Barbara Billingsley, Leave It To Beaver Mom, Dead at 94

Barbara Billingsley, the actress who famously played June Cleaver in the 1950s hit sitcom Leave It To Beaver died at her Santa Monica home this Saturday, she was 94-years old and had a long battle with the rheumatoid disease polymyalgia.
After her Beaver role ran it’s course Barbara was hard pressed to find work, having been typed cast in the series after 6 seasons as the stay-at-home mom to the mischievous Beaver.
She eventually took a role in the 1980 comedy Airplane and she appeared in the 1997 Beaver TV movie along with several other small roles throughout her career.

Hip Hop Superstar Kanye West was on Saturday Night Live this week and he performed his new song Power surrounded by a group of ballerina’s and what is quickly becoming his favorite all white background.
The Oct. 2nd performance included Kanye’s oft-made fun of red suit, while also gave a second performance of Runaway, the song he performed at the MTV Video Music Awards several weeks ago.
