In an interview with Joel Amos of Movie Fanatic, the veteran actor – and the man who originated Captain James T. Kirk – is asked about JJ Abrams helming both the updated Star Trek franchise and Star Wars franchise.
How does Shatner feel about the director?
“He’s probably the most talented director of that ilk we have,” Shatner says, adding, however, that Abrams has “gone too far” and is actually “being a pig” these days.

The man best known for knocking up Bristol Palin will reportedly marry Sunny Oglesby this weekend.
In early September, Johnston and Oglesby welcomed a daughter named Breeze Beretta into the world. Yes, she’s named after the Italian firearms manufacturer.
Now, sources tell Us Weekly, they will take the step Levi was originally ordered by Sarah Palin planning to take with Bristol.
They will walk down the aisle in Wasilla on Saturday or Sunday.

Tina Fey Goes Off on Todd Akin, Politicians Who Define Rape

Tina Fey is one unhappy comedian.
The 30 Rock star spoke last night at the Center for Reproductive Rights Inaugural Gala in New York City, using the opportunity to call out Todd Akin of Missouri, Richard Mourdock of Indiana and other politicians who have remarked on abortion and rape over the past few weeks.
“I wish we could have an honest and respectful dialogue about these complicated issues,” Fey said. “But it seems like we can’t right now. And if I have to listen to one more gray-faced man with a two-dollar haircut explain to me what rape is, I’m gonna lose my mind.”

Amy Poehler and Will Arnett Announce Separation

Proving that no celebrity marriage is safe, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have announced their separation after nine years of marriage.
A rep for the couple says the split is “amicable,” though few other details are available at this time.
Arnett and Poehler were married in August of 2003 and are the parents of sons Archie, 3 and Abel, 2.
Arnett guest-starred on Poehler’s Parks and Recreation in 2010, while other shared on-screen credits for the pair included Arrested Development, Blades of Glory, Horton Hears a Who!, On Broadway, Spring Breakdown and Monsters vs. Aliens.

Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp is so unpopular, it can’t even beat a RERUN of Dance Moms on Lifetime. So it’s been pushed to 11 p.m., according to reports.
Lifetime will now be airing a new Dance Moms episode at 9 p.m. Tuesdays, followed by a repeat at 10 p.m. in Bristol’s old slot, then Palin afterward.
The season premiere of Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp aired June 19 to abysmal ratings and worse reception from critics. It may be the worst show ever.
