Mia Amber Davis of Road Trip fame died Tuesday, a day after undergoing seemingly routine knee surgery in Los Angeles. The model was only 36.

Plus Model magazine broke the news on Facebook.

“It is with great sorrow that we are confirming that our dear friend, and plus-size model Mia Amber has passed away,” read Plus‘ statement.

Queen Latifah to Kate Middleton: Find Peace!

It’s important to remember: Queen Latifah is not actually royalty.

Still, this artist took it upon herself to give advice to Kate Middleton in a recent interview, telling Parade the princess-to-be must find a “sanctuary.”

“Everybody in the world is going to be in your business,” Latifah said. “He happened to be born a prince; you happened to go to college and meet him. You’re two kids who fell in love. I just hope you have a happy life. And don’t take anything personally.”

Anderson Cooper And GLAAD Get “Gay” Scene Cut From “The Dilemma” Trailer

The use of the word “Gay” in the trailer for Ron Howard’s upcoming movie “The Dilemma” has outraged GLAAD (The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), who have received the endorsement of CNN star Anderson Cooper,  who is also gay.

After petitioning the studio, both Cooper and GLAAD were able to convince Universal Studios to remove the offensive scene from the movies trailer.

In the original trailer Vince Vaughn is heard saying:

“Ladies and gentlemen, electric cars … are gay. I mean not homosexual gay, but you know, my-parents-are-chaperoning-the-dance gay.”

The star’s performance at the 10th Annual BET Awards Sunday, which she hosted, was “amazing, just amazing,” she raves. “Not only was it a knockout performance, but his heartfelt emotion … you can’t plan that, you can’t write that, it’s just truth.”
