Kevin Durant, one of NBA’s renowned good guys, has come under scrutiny for his on-court language and demeanor … from his own grandmother.
After his Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Phoenix Suns Monday, Durant’s grandma congratulated him on the win via text, with a side of scolding:
“Kev kev stop cussing so much they be showing u when u do,” she wrote.
His reply: “Haha sorry grandma I be so emotional, I love u …”
Durant then shared a screenshot of the exchange with his 960,000 Instagram followers on Tuesday, with the appropriate caption “sorry grandma lol.”

Katy Perry ate. She prayed. She climbed a volcano and Tweeted about it.
The 27-year-old California gurl took some time away from the stage (and John Mayer) to get her travel on. And her transcendental meditation apparently.
Wearing a backpack and posing in front of a mountain sunrise, she wrote:
“I ate, I prayed. I climbed a volcano.”
No word on the location of the image above, but her previous Tweets indicate she’s on a spiritual journey of sorts. “I can feel the Phoenix rising,” Perry wrote.
Next on the pop star’s agenda will be 30 Days to Victory, a fundraising concert in L.A. October

Guitar great Carlos Santana was given the Beacon of Change award before the Atlanta Braves’ fifth annual Civil Rights Game Sunday against the Phillies.
The Mexican-American Grammy-winner used the occasion at Turner Field to openly criticize Arizona and Georgia for their tough new immigration laws.
Saying that he represented immigrants, Santana said, “The people of Arizona, and the people of Atlanta, Georgia, you should be ashamed of yourselves.”

Melanie Brown: Pregnant Again!

Congratulations are in order for Melanie Brown and Stephen Belafonte. The couple is expecting its first child this year.
Sources say the former Spice Girl will give birth to her third baby this summer. She has a 12-year-old daughter named Phoenix and a three-year-old daughter named Iris from previous relationships.
“We’re really thrilled,” Brown told Great Britain’s Hello Magazine. “We wouldn’t have planned and waited for four years to have a baby if we weren’t excited and ready for it.”
Interestingly, Brown’s former singing pals, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham, are also pregnant.

Frankie Muniz punched his girlfriend during a domestic argument Friday night, then put a gun to his own head, according to the alleged victim, Elycia Turnbow.
A police report filed in Phoenix, Ariz., last Friday, says the Malcolm in the Middle star was arguing with Turnbow in their home about their “prior relationships.”
That’s when Frankie “grabbed a gun and held it to his head, possibly with the intent of committing suicide,” Elycia says, although Frankie disputes the claim.
Elycia called one of Frankie’s friends to take him to the hospital.

Bret Michaels headed back under the knife today to fix a whole in his heart.
Michaels checked into a Phoenix Hospital for the procedure which comes nine months after doctors first discovered the hole in his heart.
As you may recall, Michaels didn’t have the best 2010 health wise, suffering from a brain hemorrhage that landed him in the hospital.
However, despite his declining health, Michaels managed to win Celebrity Apprentice and even performed and spoke at several public performances.

Jared Lee Loughner Pleads Not Guilty

For the second time since he allegedly shot 19 people, killing six, Jared Lee Loughner appeared inside a courtroom today. He pleaded not guilty to charges that he tried to kill Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and two of her aides.
At the moment, the 22-year old faces federal charges of trying to assassinate Giffords and this pair of government officials. He will later face state charges that center on the other victims.

Kanye West posted a controversial cover for his new album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, this weekend, while declaring “Banned in the USA!!!”
The image features a painting of Kanye “chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” It was not chosen for the actual release, which disappoints West.
His Tweeting continued: “In the 70s album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now.”

Let’s call the Joaquin Phoenix story what it really is…a Mockumentary. During an interview with The New York Times Casey Affleck revealed that I’m Still Here was nothing more than a “performance” in which Phoenix pretended to be on some weird downward spiral.
The joke started in February 2009 when Phoenix appeared on late-night with David Letterman and seemed to be completely incoherent with a newly revealed heavy dark black beard and sunglasses. During that interview Letterman said, “Joaquin, I’m sorry you couldn’t be here tonight.”
