Phillip Phillips Speaks on Surgery

He may have spent months on the American Idol stage, earning millions of votes in order to be crowned the 11th champion in series history, but Phillip Phillips is not anxious for a break.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since undergoing kidney surgery, the singer said he’s sick of recovery and excited to perform in front of fans this summer on tour.

“I’ve kind of been going crazy just looking at the four walls surrounding me,” Phillips said, adding that he loves to sleep, but he’s ready to be active once again.

Phillips has mostly just been “resting and recovering” since the June

Phillip Phillips Loves Girlfriend, Embraces Talent

We’re sorry to say it, ladies, but: Phillip Phillips has a girlfriend. And he’s head over heels for the unnamed brunette.

“She is so excited for me,” the 21-year old told reporters in a conference call yesterday. “She supported me throughout all of this, and I love her to death.”

Phillip added that his gal pal has helped him immensely through his kidney ailment – it came out this week that Phillips underwent EIGHT surgeries during season 11 and is due for one in the near future – and if female voters out there have a problem with his heart being taken, well…

Phillip Phillips: Urged to Seek Medical Help

Might the success of Phillip Phillips on American Idol be jeopardizing his health? Without a doubt, YES, according to the singer’s doctors.

TMZ reports that the finalist’s physicians are adamant: Phillips needs surgery to repair a kidney issue as soon as possible. His family doctor even spent the entire day last Saturday – during Phillip’s Idol-sponsored trip home to Georgia – by the contestant’s side.

But Phillips would be sidelines for six weeks if he underwent the recommended procedure, so he is choosing to soldier on through at least next Thursday’s American Idol finale.

Phillip Phillips Reads from Genesis on American Idol 80s Night

American Idol took a trip to the 1980s last night, as the remaining finalists might as well have broken out their neon tube socks and stonewashed jeans.

Phillip Phillips did neither, of course. He simply unleashed another strong performance on viewers with his take on “That’s All” by Genesis.

Likely the most consistent performance this season, Phillips had guest mentors Gwen Stefani and Tony Kanal worried in practice, but with his brother-in-law actually backing him up on stage, Phillip shined once again. J. Lo said it came together at the end and Randy simply said it was another great

Phillip Phillips Rushed to Hospital for Kidney Stones

Fresh off another very strong performance, the future of one of our favorite American Idol contestants is in doubt.

TMZ confirms that Phillip Phillips – who covered Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” to close out last night’s performance show – was rushed to the hospital this morning with abdominal pain.

Details remain scarce, but sources close to the singer say the condition may be gallstones and that Phillips suffered through a similar condition in January and also sought medical attention for it at that time.

Let’s all hope the scare isn’t anything serious and that Phillips, who Randy

Phillip Lomax Covers Rihanna… in Front of Rihanna!

Give Phillip Lomax this: the 21-year old from Seattle has unique style. And a large set of testicles.

This X Factor contestant didn’t merely audition last night with Rihanna’s hit “Please Don’t Stop the Music.” He did so in front of Rihanna herself, who was a guest on the show and at LA Reid’s house.

Lomax put his own spin on the dance track, making it sound more like Frank Sinatra and the sultry pop artist who made the single famous. It was an impressive performance, but is Phillip commercial enough? Reid and Rihanna aren’t so sure.
