Neil Patrick Harris to Host 2012 Tony Awards

Neil Patrick Harris has been tapped to host the Tony Awards for the third time, according to reports. The actor hosted the annual award show in 2009 and 2011.
The 38-year-old How I Met Your Mother star, who will also be serving as a producer on this year’s telecast, confirmed the news in a statement.
The 2012 Tony Awards air Sunday, June 10.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s Tony Awards,” he said. “Not only will I be shining a spotlight on the best that Broadway has to offer, but hopefully I’ll score some free house seats to a show – or five!”

James Van Der Beek Will Play Himself In New TV Series

James Van Der Beek is returning to TV as part of a new ABC Sitcom titled Don’t Trust The Bitch in Apt. 23.
Van Der Beek’s character is a fictionalized version of himself, sort of like Neil Patrick Harris when he appeared in the Harold & Kumar movies.
Premiering this fall the series will star June (Dreama Walker) an optimistic and honest girl who has no choice but to move in with Chloe (Krysten Ritter) who is amoral and the best friend of Van Der Beek.

Julian Assange, that dude with the knockoff Neil Patrick Harris hair who runs WikiLeaks, just got arrested, though not because of his controversial website.
He faces rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion charges in Sweden.
An Australian national, Julian Assange has reportedly been hiding in the U.K. since WikiLeaks posted a deluge of classified, explosive documents recently.
LEAK THIS: Julian Assange is in custody.
Apprehended on the charges resulting from alleged behavior in Sweden, Assange is due in court today. We know one person who’s probably cackling inside.

In real life, NPH couldn’t be any different. Not only has he had one partner for many years, but he and David Burtka are now starting a family together.
They’re expecting twins, via a beautiful surrogate, this October!
E! Online reports that the happy couple have already put baby shower plans in motion to celebrate the new additions. Terrific news for a terrific guy.

At some point this year, Ryan Murphy is hoping to combine two of pop culture’s most buzzed-about recent phenomenons.
The Glee creator is on record as saying he hopes Susan Boyle would consider a guest-starring role on his hit Fox show. In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, Murphy says Boyle wold make an ideal lunch lady in a December episode:
“I think Kurt would just die to give her a Christmas makeover. I don’t even know if she’s interested, but it’s been pitched.”
