Darren Aronofsky Comes to Detailed Defense of Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman has been accused of contributing to a cover-up involving her participating in Black Swan.

Sarah Lane, the classically-trained dancer who served as Portman’s double in this Oscar-winning film, says she appeared in 95 percent of the full body shots throughout the movie, creating an uproar that director Darren Aronofsky is out to quell.

In a statement he released to Fox Searchlight, Aronofsky comes to his star’s specific defense, writing:

Reese Witherspoon on Robert Pattinson: So Nice and Cute!

Get in line, Reese Witherspoon.

The Oscar-winning actress talked to Entertainment Tonight this week and had a few positive words to say about Robert Pattinson, her co-star in this April’s Water for Elephants.

“He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup… he’s just so good looking and he’s a really nice person.”

We can think of a few (million) females out there who wouldn’t mind drinking from that soup.

“Ocean’s Eleven” director Steven Soderbergh slapped with paternity suit

(HMG Celebrity News) – Famed director Steven Soderbergh, who won the best directing Oscar in 2000 for Traffic, has been slapped with a paternity suit in Manhattan Supreme Court naming him as the father of a five-month-old Australian girl.

Mel Gibson to Be Charged in Attack on Oksana Grigorieva? D.A. Closing in on Decision

A new report says prosecutors are ready to file criminal charges against Mel Gibson for hitting Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his daughter Lucia.

The L.A. District Attorney granted Gibson’s lawyer, Blair Berk, a last-ditch meeting late Tuesday, as she sought to persuade authorities against it.

Deputy D.A. John Lynch met with Berk at the courthouse for close to two hours, but reports suggest charges against Mel are almost inevitable.

Michael Douglas: Feeling "Stronger," Preparing for New Movie

Michael Douglas is not cancer-free just yet.

But the Oscar-winning actor, who was diagnosed in August, tells People he feels “stronger everyday,” as he continues to undergo treatment, recognizing: “It’s a long road back.”

Part of that road involves prepping for his next role. The 66-year old will take the title role in Liberace, a biopic directed by Steven Soderbergh.

“I’ve got a bunch of tapes of performances,” he said of the real-life character. “I’m thinking; I’m a blank slate. Everything shows me he was a lovely man; I just want to reconfirm that.”

Steven Soderbergh tapped to helm ‘Man from UNCLE’

(HMG Celebrity News) – Hollywood’s obsession with remakes shows no signs of fading, and Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh is now in talks to helm their latest reboot – A new take on the classic 60′s TV spy series, ‘The Man from U.N.C.L..E.’

Michael Douglas Finishing Cancer Treatment Up This Week

(HMG Celebrity News) – While Michael Douglas continues his battle against throat cancer the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived.  His grueling eight-week chemotherapy and radiation treatment program is about to come to an end, according to People. The Oscar-winning actor, 66, has one treatment left this week and “no further treatments are scheduled,” says his publicist and friend Allen Burry.

His recovery will take another six weeks and then Douglas will have periodic check-ups. “He’s really happy about it ending,” says Burry.

Alice Tan Ridley Advances to America’s Got Talent Semifinals

Alice Tan Ridley is moving on!

The mother of Oscar-winning actress Gabourey Sidibe first impressed America’s Got Talent viewers and judges with her audition in mid-June.
