World War Z Clip: Looking for a Cure

The fate of the world is in Brad Pitt’s hands!

I, for one, couldn’t think of anyone more capable.

Check out the latest clip from World War Z:

Pitt stars as Gerry Lane, a man who leaves his family behind to travel the world looking for a cure to the zombie pandemic that threatens humanity.

Here’s hoping he finds one! And that it’s not something like “be kinder to others,” because that’s not happening.

Mirielle Enos, James Badge Dale, David Morse, Ludi Boeken, Matthew Fox, Fana Mokoena, and David Andrews round out the cast, with Marc Forster

The Lone Ranger Featurette: Watch Now!

Johnny Depp did a lot of his own stunts in The Lone Ranger.

Even ones that weren’t scripted, like falling from a horse and causing the whole crew to panic!

As I’m sure you’ve guessed, given that we haven’t heard anything about his massive torso gash, Depp is totally fine. See the ordeal in the new featurette for The Lone Ranger:

Depp stars with Armie Hammer as Tonto and The Lone Ranger, respectively, in the adaptation of the TV and radio show.

Gore Verbinski directs, with William Fichtner, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper, Mason Cook, Ruth

Star Wars Attack Wedding Photo: Nerdiest, Coolest Ever!

The dudes in Wedding Crashers have nothing on these guys.

The entire wedding party fleeing a squad of Imperial AT-AT Walkers a la The Empire Strikes Back? Probably the best idea for a wedding photo ever …

Photographer Lisa Wiebe tried to creating a nerd-tastic chase scene for bride and groom Leslie Seiler and Paul Kingston, both diehard Star Wars fans.

Safe to say she succeeded.

Wiebe halted traffic while a horde of screaming bridesmaids and groomsmen ran for their lives down a Toronto street in order to get this shot.

“Our philosophy as photographers is to keep true to our

Man of Steel Nets $21 Million Opening Night

Man of Steel has earned an estimated $21 million from Thursday night screenings!

That puts the Superman reboot at 7th place all time for “midnight” earnings. The problem with that number is that $12 million of that $21 million came from special 7pm screenings.

We’re not faulting Man of Steel for having those screenings, but the context for these numbers is constantly changing. Higher ticket prices for 3D and IMAX theaters, and ever-earlier premieres make it hard to really compare performances.

For reference, Iron Man 3 took in $15.6 million on its Thursday night opening.

Man of Steel Review: Kal-El, Clark Kent, or Superman?

The recipe for a great superhero movie is quite elusive.

How much of it should be canon? How much should be fresh?

Is it personal or universal? Gritty or fantastical?

For kids or adults? For fans or newcomers?

A superhero movie is typically lauded or panned on these points, sometimes with the same decision paying off in one film while failing in another.

Zack Snyder decided to do all of it. He did canon. He did fresh. He did personal and universal, gritty and fantastical, all of it.

Man of Steel is essentially three entirely separate films, none of which feel fully

The Bling Ring Featurette: Watch Now!

Go behind the bling in the new Bling Ring featurette:

The film recreates the story of the real-life celebrity theft ring, where a group of teens would break into celebrities’ homes and steal their stuff.

Hey, if you can get away with it, why not?

Obviously, in the end they didn’t get away with. But I’m sure they had fun while it lasted.

Emma Watson stars in the film along with Katie Chang, Israel Broussard, Taissa Farmiga, and Claire Julien.

Sofia Coppola directs the film, which also features cameo appearances from Paris Hilton and Kirsten

300: Rise of an Empire Trailer Arrives!

The first trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire is here!

It looks super epic (as expected). Take a gander:

The action sequel is based on the Frank Miller graphic novel Xerxes, and follows a naval war between the Persian Empire and the Greek city-states.

Zack Snyder, who directed the first film, co-wrote the sequel and produced, with Noam Murro taking over the directing duties.

Murro, however, follows the Snyder’s vision from the first film, which can be seen in the trailer.

Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey and David Wenham star.

Veronica Mars Movie: Who’s Coming Back?

We already know the Veronica Mars movie is happening (EEK!!!).

But creator Rob Thomas wrote an email yesterday to the Kickstarter backers who helped bring this upcomng film to life and broke the exciting news of others who will be joining Kristen Bell on the big screen.

Led by Tina Majorino as Mac.

“I really wanted Tina in Veronica Mars,” Thomas said. “To say I wrote Mac with Tina in mind would be an understatement. I wrote Mac for Tina, and Tina only. Veronica needed a female friend, and a Q to her Bond.

“Tina felt like just the sort of girl that Veronica would like and

In a World Trailer: Arrived!

Comedy trailers are hard to pull off.

The temptation is to spoil all the jokes, but really, they should just show you how fun the movie looks.

In a World looks fun. Good job, trailer editor!

Watch the In a World trailer below:

Lake Bell, who also wrote and directed, stars as Carol, a voice coach whose father as a famous voiceover guy.

When Carol attempts to break into the world of movie trailer voiceovers herself, she butts up against decades of preconceptions about what those voiceovers should sound like.

It’s an interesting, straightforward premise,
