It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend at the box office and our partners at Movie Fanatic have reviewed all the new offerings in advance of their Friday openings.
Let’s get right to it:

Anchored by Oscar winners Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard and Soderbergh (plus Jude Law and Laurence Fishburne), it’s equal parts ensemble film, thriller, international espionage tale and medical mystery.

Fright Night Movie Review: Scary Good Fun!
If you are looking for vampires who embrace humans and even fall in love with them, Breaking Dawn opens on November 18.
But if you’re in the mood for an old fashioned tale about a blood sucker with pure disdain for our kind, purchase a ticket for Fright Night. It hits theaters tomorrow and it sets Colin Ferrell loose as Jerry (yes, Jerry), a vampire who causes nothing but problems for Anton Yelchin’s Charley Brewster.
A retelling of a classic, the movie takes full advantage of its 3D status, according to our pals at Movie Fanatic, resulting in an intense pace

Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Star in MTV Movie Award Ads
The Twilight Saga may not be known for its humor, but Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner show off their lighter sides in two new ads for the MTV Movie Awards.
First, Stewart is approached by Jason Sudekis as she waits to have her hair done. She then gives him permission to redo her look, a decision she immediately regrets:

Sean Penn, Josh Brolin in talks for new gangster film
[HMG Celebrity News] – Last time Sean Penn and Josh Brolin shared screen time in ‘Milk’ Sean won an Oscar. Now they and Ryan Gosling have teamed up to tell the story of one of west coast’s most infamous gangsters; Mickey Cohen.

Born in Brooklyn in 1913 he was selling bootleg alcohol by age nine, became a boxer in his teens, then got into illegal alcohol sales again in the mid-1930s. He also helped create the Sunset Hotel in Las Vegas – one of the most infamous mob joints in town.

“They were trying to create this image, this facade, really, that Natalie had done something extraordinary. Something that is pretty much impossible… to become a professional ballerina in a year and half,” said Lane. “Even with as hard as she worked, it takes so much more.”
