Taylor Lautner to Star in Parkour-Based Tracers
They will all reconvene later this year in the final installment of The Twilight Saga, but Robert Pattinson (Cosmopolis), Kristen Stewart (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Taylor Lautner (below) have been doing their own thing these days.
Lautner will be seen at the Cannes Film Festival this week in Tracers, a Parkour-based film that finds the actor starring as a bike messenger named Cam.
The character gets involved in an organized crime ring, along with Parkour, which is described by Wikipedia as “a physical discipline which focuses on efficient movement around obstacles.”

The Avengers Breaks $1 Billion Across the Globe
The Avengers soared to new heights over the weekend, blowing past the $1 billion barrier internationally and once again finishing atop the box office in the United States.
The superhero blockbuster set another record in the process, finishing with the highest second weekend box office haul in Hollywood history: $102.3 million. Avatar had held the previous mark.
It also set the pace by becoming the fastest film to ever earn more than $300 domestically, accomplishing the feat in nine days. Sorry, The Dark Knight. It’s now second place for you.

Liam Hemsworth Books New Movie Role
Far more than merely the boyfriend of Miley Cyrus now, Liam Hemsworth has booked his next project.
The Hunger Games star will play a key role in Paranoia, Entertainment Weekly confirms, a thriller from director Robert Luketic (Killers, The Ugly Truth). It will start shooting this summer and may also feature such big names as Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford.
Hemsworth, of course, is also for two Hunger Games sequels, starting with a Gary Ross-less Catching Fire.

With the first trailer for Breaking Dawn Part 2 set to debut prior to The Hunger Games on March 23, Lionsgate has gone ahead and given us an early look at the final installment of The Twilight Saga.

Who Should Play Whitney Houston in Rumored Biopic?
Bobby Brown is not the only person reportedly looking to profit off Whitney Houston’s death.
According to Great Britain’s The Daily Mail, plans for a Whitney biopic – which existed when the singer was still alive – are being fast-tracked, and a number of big names are lining up for the main role.
The leading contender? Rihanna, with Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Hudson and Vivica A. Fox also allegedly up for consideration.

Miley Cyrus Out, Selena Gomez In for Animated Vampire Movie
Selena Gomez is joining the young vampire craze. And the actress is taking over for pal Miley Cyrus in order to do it.
A rep for Adam Sandler has confirmed to E! News that Gomez will replace Miley in Hotel Transylvania, an animated feature in which Sandler will voice the operator of a high-end resort that caters to vampires, and who freaks out when a boy finds the locale and falls for the Count’s teen-aged daughter.
She’ll be played by Selena.

Critics’ Choice Awards 2012: List of Winners
The Artist grabbed its first wins of Hollywood’s awards season at the Critics’ Choice Awards, presented by members of the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
The black and white film won the top prize of best picture at the Thursday night affair, as well as honors for best score, costume design and director.
The Help, the adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s novel about black maids speaking out about white employers during the civil-rights movement, won three honors.

The Descendants, Bridesmaids, Midnight in Paris and other fan favorites lead the way in the just-released Writers Guild of America Awards, honoring the best of 2011.

Demi Moore to Play Gloria Steinem in New Movie
For Demi Moore, there is most definitely life after Ashton.
The actress has landed a major role in an upcoming movie, agreeing to play feminist icon Gloria Steinem in Lovelace, a biopic about deceased Deep Throat actress Linda Lovelace.
The movie, currently shooting in Los Angeles and scheduled for a release in late 2012, will also star Amanda Seyfried as Lovelace, along with James Franco as Hugh Hefner.
Steinem co-founded Ms. magazine and was a strong opponent of pornography.

Paranormal Activity 4: Coming Soon!
Movie fans should prepare to be scared again in 2012.
Paramount announced yesterday that it had green lighted Paranormal Activity 4, an approval that should not come as a shock, considering the wild success of this franchise’s third installment. It earned over $200 million worldwide after opening in late October.
The first Paranormal Activity cost a measly $15,00 to produce, opened in September 2009 and went on to garner $193 million. The price on the second rose to $3 million to produce, but was easily justified by its $177.5 box office haul.
