But the remaining eight finalists were forced to look ahead on Thursdays results show, as America voted and revealed an unfortunate future for one contestant:
He or she is going home. Who received the bad news?
It appeared briefly that fan favorite Phillip Phillips might be in danger, but it came down to Elise Testone and DeAndre Brackensick in the bottom two.

Nadya “Octomom” Suleman said she’s “ashamed” of going on welfare to take care of her 14 children, but she will still never stoop so low as to do porn.
“I still am working as hard as I possibly can to support them,’’ Suleman told Today’s Matt Lauer, adding that she made the welfare decision “reluctantly.”
Suleman said she was not just humbled, but afraid to take public assistance, as she’s received death threats for receiving the aid (up to $2,000 a month).
“I feel ashamed, but who cares how I feel? It’s 100 percent about my children,” she asked and answered,

In the hours following the release of the full Whitney Houston autopsy – which details a drug-laden hotel room and the state of the singer’s dead body, lying face down in a bathtub, blood pooling off her nose – many fans of the singer are reacting with disgust and sadness.
But that’s nothing compared to the state of Whitney’s mother, Cissy.
Insiders tell TMZ that Cissy Houston is “devastated” and “inconsolable” over these findings, crying uncontrollably after reading the evidence that her daughter suffered from a deep-seeded cocaine problem.
“No one’s perfect. Only the Lord can judge,”

More >Trayvon Martin 911 Call Controversy: NBC Apologizes For Editing George Zimmerman Recording
A version of the 911 tape of George Zimmerman reporting suspicious behavior by Trayvon Martin before killing him was edited, NBC admitted this week.
It wasn’t doctored – his words were left intact – but it’s what we didn’t hear that sheds light on the ultimately fatal Martin-Zimmerman confrontation.
On March 27, NBC’s Today Show aired Zimmerman’s call to the police, featuring these words: “This guy looks like he’s up to no good … he looks black.”
The recording went viral, no doubt shaping public bias against Zimmerman. But it turns out Today shortened, and thus altered the meaning of, the

Clive Davis discovered Whitney Houston at a NYC nightclub when the singer was 20 years old.
It was therefore eerie and appropriate that the artist passed away, possibly from an overdose on prescription drugs, just a few hours prior to the music producer’s annual pre-Grammy Awards party at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel.
The somber event did proceed as scheduled – with attendees including Britney Spears, Miranda Lambert, Brandy, Tom Hanks, P Diddy, Kim Kardashian and Mary J. Blige – and Davis opened the shindig with remarks abut Houston.
