HBO cult ‘Tales from the Crypt’ set for reboot

If the end of Comic-Con left you hungry for more comic-book fun you might want to sit down – After 15-years one of the most popular comic-themed shows ever to air on HBO – ‘Tales Of The Crypt’ is set to return.

First aired from 1989 to 1996 it gained a huge fanbase and featured guests such as Martin Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Teri Hatcher, Demi Moore, Arnold Schwarzenegger [yes, him!,] Tom Hanks, Joe Pesci, Brad Pitt and many others.

But those behind this return say the new version will have almost no connection to its HBO days;

Martin Sheen Defends Diseased Son, Says Charlie is "Extraordinary Man"

Charlie Sheen has a disease, and not the kind one may contract when hanging out with porn stars such as Bree Olson and Kacey Jordan.

Speaking to Great Britain’s Sky News this week, father Martin Sheen came to the defense of his troubled son, describing his battles with drugs and alcohol as akin to what one faces when inflicted with any disease.

“He’s an extraordinary man,” the veteran actor said. “If he had cancer, how would we treat him? The disease of addiction is a form of cancer, and you have to have an equal measure of concern and love and lift them up, so that’s what we do for him.”
