Dancing with the Stars returns for its 16th season two weeks from tonight, taking over for another venerable, two-hour ABC reality show on Monday nights.
After The Bachelor spoilers have been proven correct (or not), and the final rose recipient is scrutinized to high heaven … Sean Lowe will take to the parquet.
He’ll join a Dancing With the Stars cast that has been called lackluster, but you never know who might surprise as they vie for the coveted Mirror Ball.
“The sexy is back,” boasts the first promo for the season premiere, and while that may be wishful thinking, at least theMore >
The Mayan calendar was off the mark today.
December 21, 2012 is here and so are we. What a JOKE. On the plus side, at least after the end of the world doesn’t happen today, we can stop reading about it, right?
One wonders why we ever even did.
“There’s no real prophecy that says this is the end of the world,” said Christopher Powell, a noted Mayan archeologist, told ABC. “Not from the Mayan ruins, anyway.”
The Archaeological Institute of America adds, “Whatever the significance of the date is, it is significance we put on it; it’s not the significance the Maya put onMore >
The Real Housewives of New York City are “Blinded By the Wine” and the gorgeous Miami skyline but is it enough of a distraction against the pervert who came to dinner? We recap the strange photography and lewd dinner conversation in our THG +/- review.
Ramona can’t wait to have lunch with Carole and Sonja. She’s hoping to get all the dirt on Heather when something unexpected happens. The ladies only want to bitch about LuAnn.
Plus 7. Ramona’s more than happy to go along with that conversation, unexpected as it may be. Little does she know what LuAnn has in store for her next.
For the most part, following his same-sex relationship admission, Frank Ocean has received nothing but love from those in the music industry.
But to the occasional hater or misguided critic, such as Lil Scrappy, 50 Cent has a message: You’re a complete moron!
“Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot,” 50 Cent tells MTV UK. “I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist, I think he’s created material that made me know his name, that impressed me, with things he said on a song like ‘Novacane.’”
Fiddy does believe Ocean came out with this information for “marketing” purposes, but heMore >
Kim Kardashian may be krushing on Kanye West, but she’s far from finished with the past loves of her irritating life.
Insiders tell Radar Online that Kris Humphries and his legal team are “gathering information” from this reality star’s ex-lovers – in particular Reggie Bush – and considering whether or not to subpoena them as part of Kris and Kim’s ongoing divorce battle.
What information could Bush possibly provide in a deposition? Some kind of proof, Humphries hopes, that Kardashian is insincere in relationships and always seeking fame and fortune above romance.

The final Harry Potter movie marked the end of an era this summer, and Warner Brothers is trying to punctuate the epic saga’s conclusion with an Oscar blitz.
A series of “For Your Consideration” ads have been released with the intention of lobbying voters to nominate Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King won Best Picture, so Warner Bros. certainly has a chance to gain some critical recognition for the franchise.
Here’s the latest ad the Academy should ignore at its peril:

Robert Pattinson will leave Edward Cullen far, far behind this summer.
The Twilight Saga stud has wrapped filming on Bel Ami, a drama which is rumored to premiere in early 2012 at the Berlin Film Festival. It features Pattinson as a leading man who dupes numerous rich women into sleeping with him and giving them his fortune. These lucky ladies include Scott Thomas, Uma Thurman and Christina Ricci.
Check out the first Bel Ami trailer now and then feast your eyes on the video below, as MSN unveiled a new look at the movie last night. Looks intense, doesn’t it?More >
Kim Kardashian’s wedding might be huge – okay, Kim Kardashian’s wedding WILL be huge – but the event won’t cost anywhere close to $10 million.
That’s because this marketing-based family will be arranging multiple sponsorships for the ceremony. To wit: reports confirm Kim has struck a deal with Platinum Motorsports in Los Angeles to have Rolls Royce Phantoms and Maybachs available for all important guests.
Why, people? Why give Kim Kardashian this satisfaction?!?
The expensive vehicles will transport Kim’s family and the family of Kris Humphries AND be color coordinated to match the restMore >
With infectious charisma to match his talent, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward was named the winner of Dancing With the Stars last night.
How does that compare to being the MVP of Super Bowl XLI? What was his favorite part of the experience? What was the most difficult part?
Ward offered thoughts on that and much more to the L.A. Times:
On his faith in Kym Johnson, despite her injured neck: “I knew Kym was gonna try to do all that she could to win for us, for me. I felt good. I don’t have any problems with my hands and I knew I could hold her up with lifts and not let herMore >
One week ago Aflac fired Gilbert Gottfried from his job as the Aflac Duck mascot the company is in search of new talent. Gottfried, who has voiced the duck since it was introduced in 2010 was fired after the comedian made numerous Japan Earthquake jokes via Twitter.
While speculation first floated around that another celebrity would take over the role, Aflac has decided instead to open up auditions to the general public. According to Aflac Chief Marketing Officer Michael Zuna, the company will accept 30-second audio and video files and then pick the beck Aflac duck squawk impression.

We’re fast approaching the point of too much Kardashian (quite frankly, I think we may already be past that point). Seacrest and minions need a new formula, because the current one of Kim plus Kourtney and too much of Scott Disick isn’t working.
Once upon a time Kris and Co. were a guilty pleasure, and we’d happily wait around for Khloe to tip Kourtney upside down like a teapot.
Charlie Sheen is taking his firing pretty well.
That is, if one can define “pretty well” as climbing to the rooftop of a building, wielding a machete and comparing oneself to Martin Luther King, Jr.
With Natalie Kenly by his side, Sheen waved to screaming fans and paparazzi members yesterday while standing atop the roof of concert promoter Live Nation’s building in Beverly Hills. Asked how he was doing, Sheen quoted the civil rights activist and said:
“Free at last! This is the greatest day of my life.”
Why was he meeting with Live Nation at all?More >
Proving she’s a corporate drone first and a singer second, Britney Spears Inc. made $500,000 for product placements in her “Hold It Against Me” video.
This isn’t to say that product placement is unique to Britney, but it seems like she’s more about the marketing and less about the music these days.
The most obvious example in the video is Plentyoffish (dot) com, an online dating site that coughed up “a couple hundred thousand” to be featured …
Would you hold it against her for making her video a giant ad?
Of course, they saw immediate results, to the tune of a 20 percent spike in trafficMore >
A new poster for the upcoming CW spinoff “Nikita” is causing issues among censors who believe the ad is “too racy” for public displays.
The poster (shown above) features the series star “Maggie Q” wearing a semi-revealing leather outfit and was banned by Los Angeles shopping mall The Grove and according to PopCrunch, various other locations in Chicago and New York.
According to CW Marketing Executive Rick Haskins:
“Of course, we’ve been down this road a few times with some of our campaigns,” while adding, “We know it’s always smart to come prepared [and] to have different options ready to
The perfumes current name Lolavi which means “laughing at life” is a floral fragrance and will now be called Jennifer Aniston by Jennifer Aniston.
The name change comes after her marketing team realized that the name was too close to Marc Jacobs own perfume Lola which may have confused some buyers.
When asked to explain the name of the fragrance Aniston said:
