Stan the Man.
A player so good he didn’t require a last name, or even a full first name, beloved St. Louis Cardinals star Stan Musial died yesterday. He was 92 years old.
“I never heard anybody say a bad word about him, ever,” fellow baseball legend Willie Mays said Saturday in a statement released by the Hall of Fame.
The Cardinals announced Stan Musial’s death in a news release and said he died at his home in Ladue, a St. Louis suburb, surrounded by family.

Earl Weaver Dies; Hall of Fame Manager was 82

Earl Weaver, the legendary ex-manager of the Baltimore Orioles, passed away early this morning on a cruise in the Caribbean. He was 82 years old.
A Hall of Famer, Weaver won 1,480 games and was well-known for both his temper and his penchant for the three-run homer.
He collapsed with his wife, Maryanne, by his side and never regained consciousness, according to The New York Daily News.

Britney Spears Confirms X Factor Exit

After weeks of speculation, Britney Spears has confirmed what we already knew – that she’s quitting The X Factor after her first and only season last fall.
“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season,” Brit tells ET Online in a statement, adding that Fox was informed of her decision.
“I had such an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.”

Carly Rae Jepsen and Justin Bieber are about to make beautiful music together… literally!
The 26-year old will release a new album on September 18 (titled “Kiss”) and one of the tracks included on it will be a duet with the young man who made Jepsen famous.

About six weeks after he suffered a cardiac arrest and needed his fiancee – Omarosa Manigault – to revive him and get him to the hospital, actor Michael Clarke Duncan has passed away. He was 54.
Best known for his role in The Green Mile and most recently a series regular on Fox’s The Finder, Duncan reportedly died unexpectedly, though he was hospitalized at the time.
TMZ sources say Omarosa’s mother was at Duncan’s side, while the former Apprentice star herself simply left the room for a short while and returned to the horrible news.

Chris Lighty Dead of Apparent Suicide; Hip-Hop Manager Was 44

Chris Lighty, hip hop mogul and longtime manager of big names such as 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule and Mariah Carey, was found dead in NYC this morning.
Lighty apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot would to the head.
According to law enforcement sources, the 44-year-old Lighty’s body was found by police around 11:30 a.m. in the back yard of his Bronx apartment.
Chris Lighty was pronounced dead on the scene, where a semi-automatic firearm was recovered. The death is being investigated as a possible suicide.

Daniel Tosh has been known to push the envelope, but a recent joke about an audience member being gang-raped took it too far, even by his standards.
On Friday, the star of Comedy Central’s Tosh.0 was doing standup at The Laugh Factory in L.A. and said at one point that rape jokes are always funny.

The L.A. County District Attorney’s office has dismissed the complaint against Lindsay Lohan by Thaer Kamal, who accused the actress of hit-and-run.
Just hours after the case was delivered to them, prosecutors found “no direct evidence” of LL ever hitting the manager of Hollywood’s Hookah Lounge.
In fact, per the D.A.’s report, there was no evidence that anyone hit Kamal and drove off, calling his credibility into serious question.
