McDonald’s and one of its franchisees agreed to pay $700,000 after being sued for falsely advertising food as being prepared according to Islamic dietary law.
McDonald’s and Finley’s Management Co. settled with Dearborn Heights, Mich., resident Ahmed Ahmed, a Detroit health clinic, and the Arab American National Museum.
Ahmed’s attorney, Kassem Dakhlallah, sayd he’s “thrilled” with the deal; McDonald’s and Finley’s deny any liability but say the settlement is in their best interests.

Jill Kelley is an unlikely figure to be involved in a major government scandal, but was instrumental in exposing the Paula Broadwell-David Petraeus affair.
How did the 37-year-old mother of three end up in that position?
Kelley, an event planner, had e-mailed the mayor of Tampa, Fla., mayor before, according to People‘s new cover story, but never under these circumstances.
On November 14, she e-mailed Mayor Bob Buckhorn about news crews camped outside her home.
“To put insult to injury, your police department gave the local 911 tapes to the press!” she wrote.
Charlie Sheen has made it the tiniest bit harder to hate him now.
The actor announced today that he will donate 1% of his profits from Anger Management – which is off to a solid start on FX – to the USO, guaranteeing that military organization at least $1 million and leaving the final donation figure uncapped.
It’s a record donation from one individual.
“The USO would like to thank Charlie Sheen for his very generous $1 million donation to our Operation Enduring Care Campaign and his interest in helping us lift the spirits of those who have endured so much to protect the freedoms we enjoyMore >
Making good on a promise he made not even 48 hours ago, Charlie Sheen has officially quit Twitter, leaving his 7.7 million followers emotionally reeling.
Fortunately, he departed with one final, inspiring Tweet:
“reach for the stars everyone. dogspeed cadre. c out.”
Sheen signed onto Twitter fairly recently in March 2011, after he was fired from Two and a Half Men and began lambasting his former bosses online.
He has been a regular tweeter ever since, offering sage-like pearls of wisdom to the general public and plugging his new show Anger Management.
It’s unclear why he decided to closeMore >
We can’t imagine this is real, but it’s certainly intriguing.
With rumors circulating that American Idol may hire an entirely new judging team on Season 12 – Will it include Adam Lambert? Miley Cyrus? Nicki Minaj? – producer Nigel Lythoe has reportedly given TMZ two names of who he’d love to see behind the table:
Jerry Lewis… and Charlie Sheen.
Give his sordid/colorful/ridiculous history, we somehow doubt Lythgoe would ever place Sheen in charge of a show that targets teenagers as its core audience, but the actor told the site he’d be up for it. Depending on certain conditions.
“If theMore >
His anger not managed over a story this week that claimed he trashed a NYC hotel room, Charlie Sheen is considering legal action against those who reported the story.
As reported on Wednesday, a couple news outlets claimed that the actor went ballistic inside the Ritz-Carlton, partying the night away with prostitutes and pretty much acting like Charlie Sheen circa 2010.
But hotel representatives then came out and denied the story, inviting Sheen to stay there again any time in the future.
Sheen spoke to TMZ about the allegations and said he’s been so busy promoting his new show on FX (didMore >
This clip is just painful to watch.
In an interview with Martin Short on The Today Show this morning, Kathie Lee Gifford asked the actor about his kids and their occupations – and then thought she was being complimentary by adding:
“And you and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business. How many years now for you guys?”
The extremely awkward problem, however, is that Short’s wife passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010. Watch the exchange now to see how well Short handled the questions related to him and Nancy.More >
Itinerant news anchor and malcontent Keith Olbermann is suing Current TV, which fired him late last week, for violating his contract and torpedoing his show, to the tune of $70 million in damages and unpaid compensation.
Olbermann says that the inept “Al Gore, Joel Hyatt and the management of Current are no more than dilettantes portraying entertainment industry executives.”
Keith claims his “public termination” was “the latest in a series of increasingly erratic and unprofessional actions undertaken by Current’s senior management.”
Hilariously, Olbermann actually accuses Current ofMore >
In the upcoming issue of V Magazine, Britney Spears discusses her management team, calling them “her second family,” and poses for photos with them.
Well, the second part of that is up for debate.
The images have attracted considerable scrutiny, with some remarking on how quickly Spears seems to have slimmed down for this particular shoot.
“She has clearly been working out regularly in an effort to achieve such a healthy, lean look,” the Daily Mail (UK) notes judiciously. Fans were less PC.
“Photoshopped a dillion! That’s her head on someone else’s body,” remarked one fan site. “Even RayMore >
Unlike other celebrity nude photo leaks, AnnaLynne McCord can’t blame this one on a hacker.
On January 5, the 90210 actress actually Tweeted a picture of herself topless to follower @meganraee, who, according to our crack research term, is a Colorado native named Megan Lujan.
McCord included the message “This is for you… You rock! Xxx” to the fan and attached the following photo, which she later cropped to not include any bare breasts:
It’s unknown why Lujan rocks and what prompted McCord to send out an image of herself half-naked.
But THG is happy to rock, roll and everything in betweenMore >
Charlie Sheen is most assuredly in need of anger management. And it sounds like the actor is actually gonna get, but not in the way we expected.
Multiple sources confirm that Sheen has found his next project: a sitcom based on the atrocious 2003 movie Anger Management, which starred Adam Sandler and Jack Nicholson.
Producer Joe Roth, who worked with Sheen on a number of films, including Major League, will take charge of the new series.
It will feature Sheen as a counselor of defendants in need of a new, relaxed view on life, similar to how Nicholson’sMore >
Huguette Clark, a reclusive multi-millionaire heiress whose estate remains shrouded in mystery, died in New York City on Tuesday at the age of 104.
The copper heiress died at Beth Israel Medical Center, where she lived in seclusion for 22 years after cutting herself off from friends and family.
She’s worth $500 million, including a $100 million Santa Barbara estate, a $23 million home in Connecticut and a $100 million 5th Ave. apartment.
In recent years, the management of her estate has come under scrutiny, and is under investigation by the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
Stefano Langone was voted off American Idol this week, but he says he’s proud of how far he got and looking forward to what’s next in his career.
In fact, he says he purposely held back on Idol because he wanted to save some of his patented special “swag” for fans to hear on his debut album.
“It’s hard to really show your chops on the show,” he said. “One thing I wanted to keep to myself was my original music and my piano playing. It’s something I want to bring out and really show the world, and I think it will be very, very special.”
Saying that he purposely chose to not showcase hisMore >
Despite reportedly being axed from the film, Lindsay Lohan will be part of Gotti: Three Generations after all. She hustled and landed another role in the movie!
Lindsay is no longer going to play Victoria Gotti, but instead will take the role of John Gotti Jr.’s daughter-in-law Kim, according to executive producer Mark Fiore.
That role was once considered for Kim Kardashian.
The turn of events comes hours after Fiore pulled the plug on Lindsay over a feud with her management, but Lohan really
