Is Madonna a Hypocrite With Anti-Smoking Stance?

Madonna is taking a stand against cigarette smoking, yet glamorizes smoking in her new music video for “Girl Gone Wild,” setting off cries of hypocrisy.
The topic came up when The Queen of Pop appeared on Today and was grilled over her 15-year-old daughter Lourdes being caught smoking recently.
Madonna says she “wasn’t very happy” about the Lourdes Leon picture, adding “I don’t approve of anyone smoking cigarettes, most of all my daughter.”
Well, except in the “Girl Gone Wild” video:

Jennifer Lopez Announces World Tour

Jennifer Lopez is getting ready to dance, and then Dance Again, for a worldwide audience this summer.
The singer/American Idol judge has announced a mammoth world tour, one that will kick off the second week in June in Venezuela and travel to Chile, Argentina and United States, among other locales.
Exact tour dates are yet to be announced.
Lopez is expected to hit the States some time in July, finishing up in time to once again sit alongside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson for season 12 of American Idol, auditions for which typically begin in early fall.

Madonna "MDNA" Album Sales: Oye

Madonna’s new album MDNA has sort of crashed and burned, posting nowhere close to the kind of sales figures one would expect from the Queen of Pop.
The record sold 359,000 copies when it debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts, but has since plummeted to 46,000 copies in its second week of release.
While many acts would be grateful to sell 400,000-plus units, it’s a letdown for one of the all-time greats, not to mention a record-setting dropoff.

Aerosmith Announces Summer Tour, New Album

Steven Tyler stole the spotlight for a few moments on American Idol last night, announcing that he and Aerosmith will be hitting the tour this summer for the band’s first tour since 2009.
“We’re calling the tour the Global Warming Tour,” Tyler said like only he can. “Because of the fire. Yo tengo el fuego.”
Earlier in the day, Tyler gathered at the Grove in Los Angeles – along with bandmate Joe Perry – and also revealed that the legendary group will release a new album – its first in eight years – some time later this year.

Earl Scruggs, Bluegrass Legend, Passes Away at 88

Earl Scruggs, a prolific bluegrass artist who popularized the three-finger method of banjo-picking that came to be known as “Scruggs style,” has died.
“Earl Scruggs, the most important banjo player who ever lived, has passed on,” Steve Martin tweeted after news broke that he’d passed. He was 88.
The North Carolina native, who died of natural causes yesterday, released at least 29 live and studio albums over the years. And he also wrote this:

Kat Graham has taken a break from casting spells on The Vampire Diaries to cast a net of sexiness all over the Web.
The singer/actress released the official video last night for “Put Your Graffiti on Me,” the first track off an album expected to be released some time this year.
Says Graham, who signed with A&M records in February, of the single:
“The song is basically about owning yourself sexually and allowing yourself to be owned too. And having empowerment in that… I’m all about female empowerment and having a song that has this kind of reference.”

Madonna Trashed By Deadmau5 For Glamorization of Ecstasy

Madonna has come under attack from Deadmau5, one of the world’s most famous DJs, for glamorizing ecstasy use, allegedly, during a recent concert.
Her Madgesty took the stage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami this weekend, asking crowd, “How many people in this crowd have seen molly?”
“Molly” is a slang term for MDMA, one of the key ingredients in ecstasy, a drug hugely popular within the electronic dance music community.

Jermaine Jones to Be Booted from American Idol

Jermaine Jones is reportedly getting kicked off American Idol.
The finalist was already in trouble for lying about the status of his relationship with his father, according to TMZ, when producers dug deeper into his past and uncovered a couple more untruths:
He has a criminal history. Jones has been arrested twice, providing a fake name to police on both occasions. One of the incidents also involved violence, sources confirm.
American Idol insiders say Jones will appear on tomorrow night’s performance show, but will then be given the axe. It’s unclear exactly how it will all go

We are crazy for Kelly Clarkson.
On Saturday night – the evening before this American Idol champion belted out the national anthem and Madonna performed at halftime of Super Bowl XVLI – Clarkson took to the stage in Louisiana and also took a few fan requests.
Among them? “Crazy for You” by the Material Girl herself, a track that Kelly adorably told the crowd reminded her of a date at the skating track with some dude named Michael Webb. Note to Michael Webb: we hope you regret letting this one go.

With over 2,100 votes cast, a majority of THG readers thought Madonna’s Super Bowl halftime show was at least “pretty good.”
But Piers Morgan made it clear during an appearance on Chelsea Lately last night: do NOT count him in this group!
“That Super Bowl performance – it was like watching your mad drunken aunt at Christmas, wasn’t it?” the CNN anchor said. “I keep reading all these celebrities tweeting like, ‘Wasn’t she awesome?’ No she wasn’t! She was gruesome!”

It didn’t get the attention of Kelly Clarkson’s national anthem or Madonna’s halftime show (both great), but Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton performed a beautiful rendition of “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLVI last night.
The married country stars did justice to the classic, often overshadowed by “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America,” but a wonderful tribute to our nation.

Joe Francis Threatens Lawsuit Against Madonna Over "Girls Gone Wild" Song

Sultan of sleaze Joe Francis is threatening to sue Madonna if she performs her new song called “Girls Gone Wild” at the Super Bowl tomorrow. Yes, really.
Francis, creator of the infamous Girls Gone Wild franchise, in which he films drunk girls exposing themselves on spring break, is apparently dead serious.
He has issued a cease and desist letter claiming he will take legal action against Madonna if she sings that particular song at this weekend’s festivities.
