Lauryn Hill Sentencing: Singer Gets Three Months in Federal Prison

Lauryn Hill’s sentencing hearing Monday saw the singer’s attorney claim that she’s paid off all of her debts – more than $970,000 in state and federal taxes.
Was that enough to keep the singer out of the slammer?
No. She’ll be headed to federal prison for three months!
A Newark, N.J., judge, in dishing out the sentence of Lauryn Hill, said after she does the three months, three more months of house arrest will follow.
After that, she must do nine months of supervised release.

Lauryn Hill recently lashed out against a scandal in her personal life. (No, Rohan Marley is NOT the father of her sixth child!)
Now, the singer is facing controversy in the professional realm.
According to guitarist Jay Gore, the singer pretty much sucks as a person. He has filed a lawsuit against Hill in which he accuses her of berating fellow musicians and stiffing them out of payment.

Lauryn Hill just gave birth to her sixth child, but the blessing has been marred by Internet chatter. Many have been wondering why Rohan Marley, the father of Hill’s previous five children, has not been in the picture.
In response, the singer posted the following message on her website today:
“[Rohan and I] have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us… Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child… Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well-wishes regarding the birth of my new son.”

Lauryn Hill fans last Friday were so underwhelmed by her long-awaited tour debut that they began to walk out on the singers concert.
It probably didn’t help that according to PopEater, Hill showed up at midnight for her 9pm performance. Concertgoers than say Lauryn claimed to be tired of “playing the same music night after night” and then proceeded to perform remixes of her classics.
One fan told Sandrose.com:
“Nobody could participate because NOBODY knew the music!” while adding, “Everybody was looking around like ‘WHAT SONG IS THIS???’”
