It seems that the former star of The Hills learned this lesson the hard way … and the CUTE way! She just adopted an adorable puppy that she named Fitz:
Of course, Fitz had to meet Conrad’s other four-legged family member, 4-year-old Lab mix Chloe, also a rescue dog. Fortunately, it looks like that went well.
“All I want to do is take pictures of this little cutie,” she shared, posting a photo of Fitz looking alert and prepared for food, fun, treats, walks … who’s to say.

A day after Ricki Lake showed off her newly-trim figure, courtesy of a stint on Dancing with the Stars, American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina has opened up about the steps she’s taken to shed 25 pounds in just a couple months.

“Changing my diet was the big thing,” Alaina tells Us Weekly. “I had to learn correct portion control… I eat an egg-white omelet for breakfast, shrimp and veggies for lunch and chicken with asparagus for dinner.”

A week after American Idol champion Scotty McCreery became the first series winner since 2003 to take his debut album to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, runner-up Lauren Alaina fell to Evanescence, whose self-titled third CD sold 127,000 copies in its first week, good enough for first place.

The Hills and Laguna Beach alum Jason Wahler, whose DUI arrests, fights and stints in rehab kept us busy for several years, says he’s a changed man.
As such, “I wanted to make amends with Lauren [Conrad],” he tells People. “She was a big part of my life and there’s stuff that I needed to address.”

A record 122 million votes were cast this week on American Idol. And, after all were tallied, who did viewers crown the champion?
Following an evening that included special performances by Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Bono, The Edge, Gladys Knight, Tony Bennett, Steven Tyler and more, Ryan Seacrest made the announcement that led to screams and cheers from the crowd.
“Never in my wildest dreams,” Scotty said upon being crowned victor. “I gotta thank the Lord. He got me here.”

Breaking American Idol News: Lauren Alaina Nearly Forced to Drop Out!

Lauren Alaina was scarily close to missing out on her dream tonight.
The American Idol finalist suffered through a vocal chord sprain – akin to a sprained ankle, according to a physician – during rehearsals this afternoon. It was so bad that Haley Reinhart was nearly called in to replace Lauren on the finale.
But a doctor appeared on stage at the outset of the program and told viewers he gave Alaina some medicine because she “blew out” her voice and he thinks she’ll “do great.”
“I’m here, I’m ready to sing. I’m fine, don’t worry about it,” Lauren said, hoarsely, on stage.

Lauren Alaina was nervous about going for a high note last night.
Interestingly, what she felt were the toughest parts of “Where You Lead (I Will Follow)” – a Carole King classic that later became the Gilmore Girls theme – were actually where she was at her best. Maybe she needs to give herself more credit.
