It’s been confirmed, much to the chagrin of many fans: Beyonce lip-synched the national anthem at yesterday’s Presidential Inauguration.
And while this is common procedure for many singers during live events, the same rep who outed Beyonce has come out and made it clear:
Kelly Clarkson performed live during her time on stage. There was no back-up track assistance involved with this amazing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” rendition:Kelly Clarkson “My Country Tis of Thee”

This just in: Kelly Clarkson can SERIOUSLY sing.
The first-ever American Idol champion once again showed off her vocal chops today, this time with a rather important audience surrounding her at Barack Obama’s second Inauguration in Washington, D.C.
We elect her one of the best artists on the planet. Watch this rendition now for visual and audio proof:Kelly Clarkson “My Country Tis of Thee”
Yesterday, meanwhile, Katy Perry performed at the 2013 Kids’ Inaugural Concert. Compared to Clarkson, hers is a slightly more energetic, less harmonized show.

The Mother Monster has spoken, and she is not backing down.
In the latest chapter of the Lady Gaga-Kelly Osbourne feud, the “Born This Way” singer defended her previous statements amidst an attack from Kelly’s mom Sharon.
Gaga lambasted Kelly Osbourne’s “bullying” of celebrities on E!’s Fashion Police, encouraging her in an open letter to make the world kinder, not more negative.
In response, Sharon Osbourne slammed Gaga on Facebook, telling the singer to stop being self-righteous and engaging in hypocritical bullying behavior.
What did Gaga have to say about that?
So much for Miss Independent.
Kelly Clarkson made an exciting announcement tonight on Twitter, writing of boyfriend Brandon Blackstock:
“I’M ENGAGED!!!!!” I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.”
Blackstock, a Nashville-based talent manager, has been dating the original American Idol for about a year. He’s the son of Clarkson’s manager, Narvel Blackstock, who is married to Reba McEntire.
This development may make it difficult for Clarkson to write any more angry woman anthems, but whatever. She’s gettingMore >
Kelly Clarkson took a different tact than usual during a concert in Independence, Missouri yesterday.
But the artist had a very good reason: It was 10 years and one day ago when she took home the first-ever American Idol title. Wow. That makes us feel old, and also appreciative of Clarkson.
Watch her relive that moment via her show-winning single now:More >
With the search for new American Idol judges on, Kelly Clarkson knows exactly who should get the gig.
“Didn’t she major in journalism or something?” Clarkson said to Us Weekly of her fellow former winner. “And she can have that face… that bluff face! She can put that on! She would be good.”
She’d be terrific. Underwood has the resume, and the charm and the personality, as evidenced by her CMA Awards hosting gigs.
But she also has the mammoth success and we can’t see her needing to take the job for any sort of career bump.
Still, it’s an intriguing idea, isn’t it? WouldMore >
While Christina Aguilera had the floor during Etta James’ funeral on Saturday, and used it to belt out a version of “At Last,” former American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to the late, great artist in her own way last week, as well.
“This isn’t ‘At Last’ because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favorite, actually,” Kelly told a crown in New York City. “My favorite song is ‘I’d Rather Go Blind.’ So, this is for Etta!”
On Saturday night, meanwhile, during a performance in Pennsylvania, Clarkson also announcedMore >
A new twist has emerged in the accusation of rape against Good Day New York anchor Greg Kelly:
According to The New York Post, the woman who went to the police on Tuesday and reported an October incident where Kelly sexually assaulted her also told the cops that the alleged rape resulted in a pregnancy. She said she later aborted the fetus.
Due to the internal conflict within the NYPD – Kelly is the son of Commissioner Raymond Kelly – the Manhattan District Attorney has been placed in charge of this investigation, with Kelly’s lawyer expressing confidence that office will “prove Mr.More >
Appearing on The View yesterday to hype her new album, the original American Idol cited her hometown of Burleson, Texas and explained:
“I’m from a small town so, like, everyone’s married with children or about to have children. So it’s a little hard when you go home and people are like – and that’s why people think I’m gay – because they’re like ‘Why aren’t you married?’ And I’m like, ‘it doesn’t happen for everyone right off theMore >
Kelly Clarkson has taken a break from singing about love to talk about love, admitting in a new interview: I’ve never been in it!
“I’ve never been in love,” the artist tells USA Today. “I’ve never experienced certain things, and I think that’s because I have this side of me that is shut off. Because I haven’t found anybody yet to open to that I feel like, ‘OK, you’re worth breaking down that wall for.’ I’ve never found that.”
In promotion of her fifth studio album – “Stronger,” out today! – Clarkson has been opening up more than usual about her personal life. She recently went on recordMore >
Kelly Clarkson is promoting the heck out of her upcoming album.
But the original American Idol isn’t posing for magazine covers or giving an unusual number of interviews. Instead, she’s actually giving fans a few free listens from “Stronger,” which comes out on October 24.
First, there was “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger).” Then, “You Love Me.” Now, let’s all sit back and listen to Clarkson croon on “Dark Side.” Everybody’s got a dark side, do you love me? Can you love mine? she asks below…
Kelly Clarkson takes it to an ex-boyfriend in her latest single.
The inaugural American Idol champion has given fans their first listen to “You Love Me,” a sample off her upcoming album, “Stronger.” It hits stores on October 24 and this is another strong track about woman-empowerment.
“You didn’t let me down, you didn’t tear me apart, you just opened my eyes while breaking my heart,” Clarkson croons on the song. Listen now and then go back and do the same for the first single off the CD:
Kelly Clarkson is not gay. She would like people to know that.
But the first-ever American Idol is coming out with a new album on October 24. It’s titled “Stronger,” a name taken from one of the singles featured on the CD and just released online this week by Clarkson.
“Hey ya’ll – I heard that some versions of ‘What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger)’ started showing up online,” Clarkson blogged yesterday. “I want you to hear the real thing! Check it out!”

Kelly Clarkson takes an ambitious step in her new music video: she reads the comments section of various celebrity gossip blog posts.
How does she react from there? What decision does she reach about a guy that’s constantly giving her orders? Knowing Clarkson’s history of female-empowerment songs, the answer isn’t exactly a surprise.
But it’s still worth watching, as the official video for “Mr. Know It All” takes a jab at certain kinds of men and media members. Watch now:
Kelly Bensimon is no longer a Real Housewife of New York City, having received her pink slip from Bravo (along with Alex McCord, Jill Zarin and Cindy Barshop) last week.
Following statements made by those ousted narcissists – Zarin is threatening another reality TV appearance, McCord and Barship are selling stuff – Bensimon has now spoken out for the first time about the life change.
“I’m so grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received from all of you. I hope you enjoyed my run on the show,” Bensimon wrote on her website, adding mysteriously: “Stay tuned for I’m just gettingMore >
