Steven Tyler on Alleged American Idol Rivalry: Total BS!

American Idol producers have come out and assured fans that all is good with the show’s judging panel.

But Steven Tyler doesn’t believe the public statement was necessary… because the entire Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj feud is total BS, according to the former panelist.

Nicki Minaj Goes Off on Mariah Carey

Asked by TMZ whether he thought the confrontation this week between singers was contrived for publicity, Tyler responded “of course.”

And when asked when he would be returning to the Fox competition, Tyler scoffed and made it clear: NEVER.

What do you think of the Idol

Octomom: Topless on "Sexy Party" Album Cover!

Say what you will about Nadya Suleman – and we’ve said plenty – but you can’t accuse her of being a slacker looking for welfare handouts anymore.

Octomom is set to release a pop single in the near future, and in advance of “Sexy Party,” she’s revealed the album cover. Featuring her topless.

Here’s Octomom with Adam Barta, a musician who collaborated with her on the track and clearly has his hands full … if you know what we mean.

Nadya Suleman has said she was inspired by Madonna for the “Sexy” cover art, which also features crucifixes in the background. So edgy.

Barta tweeted out the

Phillip Phillips Speaks on Surgery

He may have spent months on the American Idol stage, earning millions of votes in order to be crowned the 11th champion in series history, but Phillip Phillips is not anxious for a break.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since undergoing kidney surgery, the singer said he’s sick of recovery and excited to perform in front of fans this summer on tour.

“I’ve kind of been going crazy just looking at the four walls surrounding me,” Phillips said, adding that he loves to sleep, but he’s ready to be active once again.

Phillips has mostly just been “resting and recovering” since the June

Should Fox Cancel American Idol?

The ratings for American Idol were way down this season, about 32 percent lower than those of season 10.

The winners on American Idol all appear to be from the same mold, as Phillip Phillips follows in the Caucasian, guitar-playing footsteps of Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen, David Cook (pictured) and Scotty McCreery.

So, it must be asked: is it actually time to cancel American Idol?

Yes, Allen told TMZ this week. He believes the plug should be pulled on a competition that has clearly grown tiresome on the eyes of viewers.

But another former winner disagrees.

American Idol is a juggernaut,”

Jessica Sanchez: Phillip Phillips Deserved to Win American Idol

Upon winning American Idol last night, Phillip Phillips dissolved into tears and hugged his parents. It was a beautiful, pure moment of happiness.

But, moments prior to that celebration, Jessica Sanchez treated viewers to a lovely moment herself: expressing true pride and satisfaction when her opponent’s name was called.

“I really think that Phillip deserves to win and I’m so happy for him,” Sanchez told reporters after all was said and done, adding of Phillip: “He has his funny side and his humble side and he’s just an amazing, original artist.”

The same is true for Sanchez, who may have

American Idol Results: Who Made the Finals?

I love you guys so much because you have the courage to have a dream.

That’s what Steven Tyler told the remaining three American Idol contestants tonight. Alas, for one of Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Joshua Ledet, the dream is now over. So… following a painful Ice Age 3 tie-in and a performance by Adam Lambert, who got voted out of season 11?

JOSHUA LEDET!

The talented crooner takes it very well and even brings his mom on stage as he sings farewell via “Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”

This leaves Jessica Sanchez, likely the best voice of the season, and Phillip Phillips, the

American Idol Results: Who Got the Chop?

American Idol pared its field down to nine singers this week.

Following their performances Wednesday night, DeAndre Brackensick and Heejun Han seemed destined for the bottom three on tonight’s results show.

Did they land there? And who else ended up on the block?

The dreaded bottom three did indeed come down to the aforementioned two gentlemen, as many predicted, along with Erika Van Pelt, with the judges indicating right off the bat that they would not be saving any of the above. Rough!

When the results were read, the fewest number of votes went to…

Erika Van Pelt! Yes, America actually

American Idol Power Poll: The Top 10

With the American Idol top 10 taking the stage again tonight, and with this shaping up to be one of the more hotly-contested seasons to date, it’s time for the first THG Power Poll of the season.

Who do you see as the favorite right now?

10. Deandre Brackensick: Would have been our choice to leave after last week’s debacle. He can hit the high notes… and that’s about it.

9. Heejun Han: Love the personality, don’t see anything on stage that makes him standout above the rest. It’s solid and nothing more or less.

8. Elise Testone: Might suffer some likability issues. Did you notice her NOT

Jermaine Jones Lies About Father, Angers American Idol Producers

Jermaine Jones is reportedly a very tall liar.

According to TMZ, the American Idol finalist told producers last week that his father abandoned him a decade ago, only to suddenly reappear in his life immediately after Jones was named one of the season’s final 13.

Jermaine went on to label him a “lousy father” and said he didn’t want contact with the man.

But now that man, Kevin Jones, says his son’s story is simply ridiculous; the two have a perfectly normal relationship and even dined together last Wednesday and Thursday, while Jones was in the Idol crowd during last week’s performance

Selena Gomez to Justin Bieber: Happy Birthday, BFF!!!

Justin Bieber turned 18 today, and he just received the best birthday gift of all.

No, not this new car, although that was pretty cool of manager Scooter Braun to present. We’re referring to best wishes from the most important young woman in his life, girlfriend Selena Gomez.

“Happy birthday to my best friend in the whole world!!! Have a great birthday baby!” Selena Tweeted this afternoon, attaching the following photo of the couple with her message:

Things are clearly going VERY well for Justin and Selena, but not that well. The former cleared up any engagement talk this morning with

Grammy Awards Fashion Face-Off: Adele vs. Taylor Swift

Adele definitely got the best of Taylor Swift – and the entire music world – winning six out of a possible six honors at the 2012 Grammy Awards in L.A. Sunday night.

Can she continue her unbeaten streak with a win in this style showdown? That remains to be seen, though the British songstress looked great on the red carpet.

Adele has won praise for the fact that – like Swift – she succeeds on talent and sets a good example for fans by not parading around in no pants. So to speak.

Which of these popular, talented singers’ fashion statements from last night do you like better? Vote in THG’s

Ali Shields Raps, Kisses, Dances on American Idol

Ali Shields is off to Hollywood, but it took one of the more unusual American Idol auditions to get her there.

This aspiring singer has actually been featured on national television before, posting a video online that eventually landed her a spot on Ellen. She proceeded to attend a red carpet event through the talk shot host and kiss Usher. No, really!

Last night in San Diego, meanwhile, Ali at first rapped for the Idol panel; and then broke down into a dance at Randy Jackson’s request; only to finally conclude with an actual song that landed her a Golden Ticket. Watch for yourself:

Adam Lambert on Arrest: Drunken Lesson Learned!

In a word: oops!

That is Adam Lambert’s reaction to the brawl he and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen got into last night, as the pair were arrested and interrogated by Finnish police after SERIOUSLY getting into it around 4 a.m. outside a bar in Helsinki.

“Jetlag+Vodka=blackout,” Lambert Tweeted this afternoon. “Jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it.”

At least these two appear to be on good terms again, as Koskinen also blogged soon after the incident: “Publicity is not easy, but also celebrities are just human. Love is not easy either, but it lasts
