America’s Got Talent Review: Grading the Quarterfinals

After a week and a day of waiting, the second part of the America’s Got Talent quarterfinals arrived with a bit of a whimper. There were only five strong acts overall, while a majority were clearly not prepared for the big stage.
But let’s give them all a grade anyway, shall we?
LionDanceMe – There was an awkward fall in the practice but the group performed a clean act. The routine still looked like a lot of the same. I’m not discrediting that jumping on small posts takes talent and accuracy; there should be more.Grade: B-

When Paul McDonald takes to the stage tonight on American Idol, he’ll likely be less nervous than any of the other 11 male semifinalists.
That’s because the 26-year old from Nashville has already recorded multiple albums with his band, The Grand Magnolias, and toured a bit around the country. The artist has more experience than most in the competition.
Will that result in a well-polished performance? We’ll soon find out. For now, watch McDonald talk about his group and listen to him sing the same original song that he used on an earlier audition, “American Dreams.”

He caused controversy in Hollywood by kicking Jacee Badeaux out of his group. But Clint Jun Gamboa will now have a chance to make it up to American Idol viewers:
The singer has been named one of the final 24 contestants on season 10.
Gamboa received the good news last night, joining a quartet of other contestants that have also moved on to next week’s live performances: Paul McDonald, Ashthon Jones, Haley Reinhart and Naima Adedapo.
Clint is is a two-time karaoke champion of Southern California and you can watch him in Idol action below.

Tiger Woods to Rachel Uchitel: Silence or Else!

Tiger Woods’ people recently reached out to his former mistress Rachel Uchitel, but it wasn’t to schedule any late-night, Ambien-fueled sex romps this time.
Despite recent rumors, Rachel and Tiger are not getting married, and Rachel isn’t pregnant with Woods’ love child. Devon James already worked that angle.
The two haven’t spoken to each other in months, but his attorneys contacted her because they were concerned about her going on VH1′s Celebrity Rehab.
