We still don’t know who will play in next month’s Super Bowl – our money is on the Patriots vs. the 49ers – but we do now know the two main musical acts that will be featured in New Orleans.
Beyonce will perform at halftime – and it’s been confirmed that Alicia Keys will sing the national anthem.
The occasion will mark this Grammy winner’s first time performing at the big game, although she has actually twice before taken the stage during the pre-show.

Gabrielle Giffords paid an emotional visit this afternoon to Newtown, Connecticut, as the former Congressman tragically has something in common with this scarred area.
Giffords, of course, was shot in the head two years ago outside Tucson in an incident that claimed five people.

Sandy Hook Survivor Looking to Sue Connecticut Over Shooting

A Connecticut attorney blames the state for the brutal massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and is looking to sue for $100 million on behalf of one of the survivors.
According to the Hartford Courant, Irving Pinsky filed legal documents with the Claims Commissioner, asking permission to sue the state on behalf of a 6-year-old student.
The Newtown, Conn., resident (only ID’d as “Jill Doe”) was in another classroom at the time Adam Lanza open fire and suffered emotional and psychological trauma.

The disappearance of 12-year-old Autumn Pasquale was enabled in part by Facebook, according to a new report regarding the New Jersey girl’s tragic death.
Pasquale initiated the conversation when she saw a photo that Justin Robinson, 15, had posted of his BMX motocross bike, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
The Facebook conversation about the bike is particularly chilling, as prosecutors believe the brothers lured her to their home intending to steal her own bicycle for parts.
“Is that ur bike?” she wrote.
“Yeupp,” he responded.

Aurora Movie Theater to Pay for Victim Funeral Services

The movie theater inside which James Holmes took the lives of 12 people last Friday is offering to pay for the funerals of those lost in the massacre.
As first reported by TMZ, several services were held this week, including one for a 32-year old mother of two named Rebecca Wingo.
And insiders say the owners of Cinemark called the chapel where her funeral was being held and made it clear it would cover the expenses for Wingo and also all other victims of the tragedy.

Richard Dawson, the legendary host of Family Feud and a veteran film and TV actor, has died from complications due to esophageal cancer, according to his son.
He was 79. Gary Dawson wrote on Facebook late Saturday:
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away this evening from complications due to esophageal cancer.”
“He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad, and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered.”
