NASCAR Crash: 28 Injured in Pre-Daytona Pile-Up

A huge, multi-car crash on the final lap of Saturday’s Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway injured 28 fans, some seriously.
At least one NASCAR fan suffered life-threatening injuries.
An amazing raw video of the crash quickly went viral:

Simply put, Casablanca is the greatest movie in cinematic history.
So state the good folks at Movie Fanatic, who have spent weeks counting down the top 100 films of all-time.
The rankings finally concluded today with a final three of Vertigo, Taxi Driver and the Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman classic that “continues to compel every new generation that comes along,” according to the site. Why?
“Because it is equal parts timeless romance and war drama, whose themes could not be more universal, regardless of the era.”

As practical jokes go, the Invisible Driver Drive-Thru Prank – as created and filmed by compulsive prankster and magician Rahat – ranks in the upper tier.
For this trick, members of the audience, Rahat builds a seat cover that looks just like the seat in his Nissan, then puts it over himself while he’s driving.

Macho Camacho Dies from Gunshot Wound Complications

It’s been known for days, but now it’s official: Hector “Macho” Camacho was taken off life support this morning and passed away from injuries he suffered in a shooting earlier this week.
He was 50 years old.
The multiple-time world champion had not fought since 2010 and had also been involved in a number of run-ins with the law over recent years, from burglary charges to domestic abuse allegations.
On Tuesday morning, he and a long-time friend were driving along a road in Bayoman, Puerto Rico when another vehicle pulled up alongside them.

Hector Camacho to Be Taken Off Life Support

Hector Camacho, a former Lightweight and Welterweight boxing champion, will pass away today from injuries suffered in a shooting on Tuesday. His family has announced it is taking the 50-year old off life support.
The Puerto Rican native, who compiled a lifetime record of 79-6-3, was the passenger in a car when another vehicle pulled up aside him and a friend, firing shots that killed the driver in Camacho’s car and fatally wounding the athlete.

ABC just announced the cast for its first-ever All-Star edition, which will air this fall and featured 13 previous Mirror Ball hopefuls.

James Holmes Identified as Colorado Shooting Suspect

James Holmes has been identified as the suspect who opened fire inside a Colorado movie theater early this morning, injuring over 50 attendees and killing at least 12 people on hand to watch a screening of The Dark Knight Rises.
The 24-year old is in police custody.

Flavor Flav Owes $111K in Back Child Support, Faces Jail Time

Flavor Flav needs to cough up $111,186 in child support payments to the mother of three of his seven kids or face jail time, news sources say.
“It was declared a willful violation,” an official said of his failure to pay child support … which can’t be good. He faces up to 180 days behind bars.
The rapper didn’t show up for a hearing last week, so an Albany, N.Y. magistrate recommended his driver’s license and passport be revoked.
While Flav, 53, is required to pony up $837.72 a week to baby-mama Angie Parker for child support … he clearly hasn’t done so in some time.

Looks like there may be a few bugs in the newest version of the iOS.
People have complained that Siri rarely does what you actually want and that she can have a difficult time with nuances of different languages.
We had no idea Siri was a closet racist, however, until just now.
In a parody from Funny or Die, the virtual iPhone assistant offers advice to an African-American gentleman based solely on racial stereotypes.
This is the second funniest spoof on the iPhone after last winter’s nuclear marital Siri argument. When in doubt … call your parole officer.

Amanda Bynes Involved in Hit-and-Run … Again!

Amanda Bynes was involved in another hit and run in Hollywood this weekend, but at least she apparently hit some random guy and not a cop.
A man claims he was sideswiped by a Range Rover trying to pass him on the right in L.A., and when the SUV didn’t stop, he called the police.
He also began to follow the SUV himself, and when he finally caught up to the Range Rover, sources say the driver was none other than Bynes.
The star told police she had no idea she had struck another vehicle, which is plausible, as police say damage to her car was quite minimal.

If you thought the potholes on your road were bad, maybe think twice before calling city hall. Chances are you have nothing on this Russian cabbie.
In the local news segment below, the maligned taxi driver laments that his vehicle is stuck in what is obviously a rather large gouge in the road.
One obscured, apparently, by water caused by a recent storm, poor drainage, or both. Don’t you hate when that happens and you can’t see how deep it is?

Patrick Dempsey Helps Rescue Teen From Overturned Vehicle

Sometimes life imitates art, or something like that.
Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey channeled his inner Dr. McDreamy this week when he helped rescue a teenager who careened off the road and overturned his car completely near the actor’s property in Malibu, Calif.
The car had rolled repeatedly and was totaled.
Dempsey reportedly ran toward the car with crowbar in hand so he could pry the driver out of the wrecked Mustang, and was successful.
A neighbor called 911 and the police came, with paramedics treating the crash victim for a concussion, and stunningly nothing worse.
