Gabby Douglas Reveals Bullying, Torment With Racial Slurs on Oprah’s Next Chapter

Gabby Douglas’ road to Olympic glory was far from easy.

The 16-year-old revealed to Oprah Winfrey on Sunday’s Oprah’s Next Chapter that she was often bullied and tormented – even at a local gym.

“One of my teammates was like, ‘Can you scrape the bar?’” Douglas recalled. “And they were like, ‘Why doesn’t Gabby do it, she’s our slave?’”

“I definitely felt isolated, I felt why am I deserving this? Is it because I’m black? Those thoughts would go through my mind,” said the champ.

Michael Douglas tells Matt Lauer that tumor gone, throat cancer may be beat

(HMG Celebrity News) – ‘Cancer survivor’ Michael Douglas, appears on talk show “Today,” this morning, while the full interview will air later on “Dateline NBC” on January 23.

Douglas who revealed in August that he had stage IV throat cancer, tells Today co-host Matt Lauer  in a transcript of the interview released by NBC, that he feels good, since undergoing several weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and very relieved.

“The tumor is gone. I think the odds are, with the tumor gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I’ve got it beat,” Douglas told Lauer.

Michael Douglas Beats Cancer

Movie star Michael Douglas has announced that his six month battle with Stage III throat cancer has been won. Douglas announced his victory over the disease during a Monday Today Show interview with Matt Lauer that will air on Tuesday.

Douglas told Lauer:

“I feel good, relieved. The tumor is gone. But, you know, I have to check out on a monthly basis now to maintain. I guess there’s not a total euphoria. I’ll probably take a couple of months of getting checked out. But it’s been a wild six-month ride.”

Michael Douglas: Feeling "Stronger," Preparing for New Movie

Michael Douglas is not cancer-free just yet.

But the Oscar-winning actor, who was diagnosed in August, tells People he feels “stronger everyday,” as he continues to undergo treatment, recognizing: “It’s a long road back.”

Part of that road involves prepping for his next role. The 66-year old will take the title role in Liberace, a biopic directed by Steven Soderbergh.

“I’ve got a bunch of tapes of performances,” he said of the real-life character. “I’m thinking; I’m a blank slate. Everything shows me he was a lovely man; I just want to reconfirm that.”

Michael Douglas Finishing Cancer Treatment Up This Week

(HMG Celebrity News) – While Michael Douglas continues his battle against throat cancer the light at the end of the tunnel has arrived.  His grueling eight-week chemotherapy and radiation treatment program is about to come to an end, according to People. The Oscar-winning actor, 66, has one treatment left this week and “no further treatments are scheduled,” says his publicist and friend Allen Burry.

His recovery will take another six weeks and then Douglas will have periodic check-ups. “He’s really happy about it ending,” says Burry.

Michael Douglas To Undergo Chemotherapy For Tumor

Michael Douglas has announced that he has a tumor in his throat which will require 8 weeks of chemotherapy treatment according to PEOPLE.

The 65 year old star says his doctors expect him to make a full recovery and in a public statement he said in regards to his treatment, “I am very optimistic.”

Douglas has not announced whether or not the lump is malignant or benign.

The treatment comes just ahead of his new films Sept. 24 release, that move “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps” is the sequel to his hugely popular 90’s movie Wall Street.

Michael Douglas Diagnosed with Cancer

Michael Douglas has been diagnosed with throat cancer.

The two-time Oscar nominee, 65, will under go eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy and says in a statement he’s “optimistic” about a full recovery.

Douglass is married to Catherine-Zeta Jones and will next be seen as his famous character of Gordon Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
