George Clooney Fights Off Malaria

George Clooney recently came down with malaria.
It’s the second bout of the disease for the actor, who will appear on Piers Morgan Tonight Friday and who recently returned from Sudan, where he’s been calling for diplomacy against that nation’s potential genocide.
Clooney is using the opportunity to point out the significant differences between how fortunate we have it in the United States compared to third world countries struggling for survival. As he recovers, the star said in a statement:

Elizabeth Edwards Gravely Ill, Suspends Treatment as Cancer Spreads

Elizabeth Edwards’ cancer fight has taken a turn for the worse.
With the disease spreading to her liver, the wife of John Edwards revealed that she is resting at home and no longer seeking treatment for the disease.
“Elizabeth has been advised by her doctors that further treatment of her cancer would be unproductive,” the Edwards family says in a statement.
On Monday, the ailing Edwards posted a Facebook message to her friends that can be tragically interpreted as a farewell of sorts. She writes:

LFO Singer Rich Cronin Dead At 35

LFO singer Rich Cronin passed away on Wednesday, he was just 35 years old.
LFO was a popular boy band in the ’90s and Cronin was front and center with the band, both as they rose to fame and after they fell out of the limelight and he fought a five year battle with leukemia.
LFO is best known for their summer song hits Girls On TV and Summer Girls. The latter his No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1999.
Cronin was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia in 2005 and soon after he began the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation to spread word about the disease and to help find blood and bone
