Dane Cook has apologized for being an insensitive jerk bag.

On Thursday night, the unfunny stand-up comedian joked that people inside the Aurora, Colorado movie theater last week were probably wishing they’d be shot because The Dark Knight Rises is such a bad movie.

Shockingly, anyone with an ounce of sympathy and intelligence came down hard on Cook, prompting him to write the following on Twitter:
