And pretty darn cool.
Less than 11 hours after creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell asked fans to donate to Kickstarter in order to fund a Veronica Mars movie, the project has reached its 30-day goal of $2 million… in under 11 hours!
“My mind is blown,” Thomas tells EW of the results. “I’ve been fantasizing about this taking big and had to tell myself, ‘Stop it, Rob, you’re being silly. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment.’

Was the Chris Brown-Frank Ocean fight really just over a parking spot? Or did a shared history of animosity between the musicians and their camps trigger it?
If you missed it, Chris was listening to artist he represents at an LA-area studio last night; when he went to leave, Ocean and his people blocked him in.

Albuquerque Shooting Leaves Five Dead, Teenager in Custody

Law enforcement officials in Albuquerque confirm that an unidentified 15-year old male shot and killed two adults and three children in an area home today.
The culprit was arrested for murder and other charges connected to the incident, which took place in a rural community approximately 10 miles southwest of the city center.
Bernalillo County sheriff spokesman Aaron Williamson says police are “trying to identify the victims,” but each was shot more than one time.
Several guns were found at the residence/crime scene, including a semi-automatic military-style rifle. It’s unknown

Blake Jenner has earned a role on Glee Season 4.
Following an opening season in which Ryan Murphy actually awarded all three finalists with at least some appearance on his Fox hit, the creator said prior to Season 2 that only the actual winner would appear on Glee in 2012-2013.
So, how did Jenner pull it out and earn himself a seven-episode stint?
He took on “I’ll Be” by Edwin McCain for his final performance, tossing the microphone in a bit of fun showboating – and also writing a poem! That likely put him over the winning edge in the judges’ eyes.

A bootleg fireworks fail on some random guy’s street? You almost expect that on July 4. But the seventh-largest U.S. city screwing up? That’s more noteworthy!
The July 4 fireworks show in San Diego ended abruptly after a malfunction on three barges in the city’s coastal bay caused all the explosives to go off at the same time.
An extravaganza that was supposed to last 25-30 minutes was compressed into about that many seconds. Silver lining: those 25-30 seconds were awesome!!

Miley Cyrus Teams with Rock Mafia for "Morning Sun"

The official version of a collaboration between Miley Cyrus and Rock Mafia has hit the Internet.
Following a demo leak of “Morning Sun” that made its way online last year, the group has released the following listen today for free, giving fans an early copy of a track that will be featured on its upcoming EP.
Cyrus mostly just sings backup vocals, but this isn’t the first time she has worked with the band. In 2010, she made out with Kevin Zegers in the Rock Mafia video for “The Big Bang.”

Simon Fuller Sues Fox Over X Factor Exclusion

It’s Simon vs. Simon in a battle of music industry titans.
Simon Fuller, the creator of American Idol, has filed a legal complaint against Fox Broadcasting and FremantleMedia. At issue is former Idol host Simon Cowell’s forthcoming U.S. version of the British hit, The X Factor.
Fuller says the companies failed to honor an agreement from a previous copyright lawsuit he filed against Cowell’s rival reality show in the UK in 2005.
In that legal saga, Fuller claimed Cowell, with whom he has an uneasy relationship at best, stole his idea for the series.
