Ann Curry Firing to Cost The Today Show Millions

If/when Ann Curry gets fired from Today, it will cost NBC a pretty penny.
Actually, many pretty pennies. More pretty pennies than a celebrity gossip website knows how to count.
Network insiders tell TMZ that Curry is definitely a goner next week, and that the ousting will cost NBC close to $30 million because the co-host signed a long-term contract in 2011 that guarantees her $10 million/year.
That number ought to soften the blow, huh?
Curry is also rumored to become a foreign correspondent for NBC News, a capacity that will involve… who cares?!? $30 million?!? YEESH!
Rob Lowe to Replace Regis Philbin on Live?

Regis Philbin’s replacement on ABC could be Rob Lowe, reports say.
Lowe just finished a two-day stint guest hosting with Kelly Ripa and an ABC source says the top network brass “loved the chemistry between them.”
Network executives have spoken with Lowe’s reps about making it a permanent gig, but Lowe, who stars on Parks and Recreation, is non-committal.
There’s a big surprise. One of the more itinerant actors around, Lowe has departed in the middle of numerous programs’ runs in pursuit of other projects.

Two weeks ago, a Blake Lively nude photo scandal hit the web, as hackers released an array of nude shots allegedly of the Gossip Girl actress.
Lively’s rep, while denying the photos are of the star, threatened legal action against websites that published them. But can she even do that?
She sure can – irrespective of whether the pics are her or not, in fact – for invasion of privacy, negligent infliction of emotional distress, etc.

The 2010 Teen Choice Awards, held at the Gibson Amphitheater on Sunday in Universal City, Calif., and airing tonight on Fox, were filled with big names.
Sandra Bullock, for one. She didn’t walk the blue carpet, but accepted the award for choice movie actress for her Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side.
“I don’t know if you should bring attention to this. Some things are better left unsaid. It’s been awhile since I was a teen,” she said. “I’m so blessed and lucky.”
