With the calendar about to flip to 2013, we’re looking back at the stars who made this year so memorable via their songs, sex tapes, naked photos, and/or arrests.
Justin Bieber kicked off our top five, followed by Kate Middleton in the #4 spot and Taylor Swift at #3. Today, we present our Celebrity of the Year runner-up:
The year will go down as another huge one for Rih musically, with the prolific singer’s albums Talk That Talk and Unapologetic both dominating the charts.

We’re inching ever closer to #1.
With the calendar about to flip to 2013, THG is taking a look back at the year that was, specifically the stars who made it memorable via their songs, sex tapes, naked photos, arrests or – in rare cases – all of the above.
The year will close with Swift’s “Red” atop the Billboard 200, marking the seventh time this year the album has risen to number-one.
Moreover, it’s opening weekMore >
Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy are still together, having recently hatched a scheme to make people THINK they split, according to a new report.
They only “broke up” to get their families off their case, says a source:
“Taylor and Conor are pretending to everyone that they’ve split up, and so far they’ve done a really good job of convincing friends – and even the press – that it’s true.”
“They hatched the scheme because the Kennedys were putting pressure on Conor to concentrate on high school and getting into a top college.”
The Kennedys were also reportedly worried aboutMore >

Might Hoda Kotb be in?
With The Today Show on the verge of an anchor change, and with Meredith Viera having turned down an offer to return, insiders tell Radar Online that Kotb may be getting the replacement call.
“Hoda scores off the charts in focus groups, and the audience can relate to her,” says the source of The Today Show‘s fourth hour co-host.
The long-running program is desperate to hold off Good Morning America, which has overtaken it in the ratings this spring. But would Kathie Lee’s wine-drinking cohort really be the answer? Vote now:

Chris Brown turns 23 on this wonderful Cinco de Mayo.
We’d buy him a margarita, but maybe an O’Douls would be better, given the potentially negative effects of alcohol on people prone to … you know.
Just kidding … sort of. Anyway, happy birthday CB!
With his songs burning up the charts, he’s certainly beaten the haters’ expectations after nearly torpedoing his own career by beating … you know.
Point being, man is he hot right now!

While Christina Aguilera had the floor during Etta James’ funeral on Saturday, and used it to belt out a version of “At Last,” former American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson paid tribute to the late, great artist in her own way last week, as well.
“This isn’t ‘At Last’ because everyone really covers that and so I wanted to do my favorite, actually,” Kelly told a crown in New York City. “My favorite song is ‘I’d Rather Go Blind.’ So, this is for Etta!”
On Saturday night, meanwhile, during a performance in Pennsylvania, Clarkson also announcedMore >
The name Chris Brown evokes both admiration and intense scrutiny.
The singer has received ample amounts of both from fans and critics over the past few years, but in spite (or because) of that, his new album F.A.M.E. has been a success, producing chart-topping hits and rejuvenating his career.
The Source featured C-Breezy on the cover of its July issue …
In the magazine, Brown opens up about his return to the top of the charts, what it is like being Chris Brown the superstar and his progression as an artist.

This just in: folks love Lady Gaga!
The artist is poised to become the first singer to sell over one million copies of an album in a week since Taylor Swift pulled off that feat last fall.
Indeed, when the Billboard 200 comes out this week, industry insiders expect the eccentric artist’s “Born This Way” to have broken the 1.15 million mark, partly thanks to a promotion ran by Amazon last week when it sold the CD for 99 cents over two days.

Randy Jackson says all three American Idol judges will return for season 11.
We hope he’s right, but there’s a problem with that prediction: Jennifer Lopez only signed a one-year deal with Fox, and she hasn’t committed yet to a new one.
“It’s too early to tell,” if I’ll return, Lopez said soon after this week’s finale.
Do we think she’ll be back? Absolutely. American Idol resurrected J. Lo’s music career, as her single “On the Floor” shot to the top of the charts.
But do you want Lopez back on the panel? Vote now:
Following decades in the music business, Phil Collins has called it a career.
The British artist says he suffers from hearing problems, a dislocated vertebra and nerve damage in his hands, all due to years and years of performing.
“I’m not worried about not being able to play the drums again, I’m more worried about being able to cut a loaf of bread safely or building things for my kids,” the father of two tells FHM.
Considering the state of the business, with singers such as Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift dominating the charts, Collins also doesn’t think he fits in any longer, saying:
With his new album climbing the charts, Eminem leads the list of nominees for the American Music Awards with five. Lady Antebellum also netted five nods in all.
You could definitely call this a successful Recovery.
Predictably, not far behind the star were Justin Bieber, who followed with four, then the likes of B.o.B., Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher, collecting three nods per.

[HMG] – At his peak in the late 60’s, Tom Jones was the Brit’s answer to Elvis. A writhing, sweat-sprinkled mass of tight pants and chest hair that drove women to the point of divestment – His presence on stage was often met with a shower of small undies.
But those days are gone. Now 70-years old Tom’s days of headlining in Las Vegas are over, and his latest gig in a quiet woodland in South-Eastern England brought only showers of complaints.
His biggest hit in recent years was 1999’s crowd-pleaser, ‘Sex Bomb.’ But despite frequent audience requests he won’t sing it. Nor any of the other hitsMore >
Lady Gaga can look really hot when she wants to and the cover of Vanity Fair UK shows off that fact.
Gaga graces the cover of the fashion magazine and it’s a great time to be her with her hit Alejandro once again climbing the charts and her YouTube videos receiving well over one billion views (beat out just by tween sensation Justin Bieber).
We’ve also come to learn that Gaga has gotten back together with ex-flame Luc Carl, a New York bartender who has known Gaga since her St. Jerome Nightclub days in New York back in 2006. Luc apparently broke up with his girlfriend to get back togetherMore >
Men At Work forced to pay royalties on 80s hit song ‘Down Under’ on questionable copyright complaint
(HMG) – A judge has ordered Men At Work to hand over some of the royalties collected from their smash hit single Down Under, after earlier ruling they had plagiarized a children’s song. “Down Under” which celebrates Australia as a land where beer flows and “women glow,” topped the charts in the U.S. and U.K., in 1983, the year the band won the Grammy for Best New Artist.
A judge ruled that a distinctive flute riff of the song was found to have been taken from the 70 year old song Kookaburra Sits In The Old Gumtree. Men At Work songwriter and lead singer Colin Hay told the court thatMore >
Her new album failed to land at the top of the charts during its first week of release, but Christina Aguilera still felt like a winner last night.
That’s because the singer opened Game Six of the NBA Finals with a rousing rendition of the national anthem and then sat courtside as the Los Angeles Lakers pummeled the Boston Celtics 89-67, setting up a decisive Game Seven for the title tomorrow night.
