Kids Choice Awards 2011 Winners: Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas & More
To the surprise of no one, Justin Bieber and Katy Perry were among the winners in Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles.
More than 200 million votes were cast to honor the best in kids’ entertainment.
The show featured a bevy of entertainers, a variety of comedic skits, more shrieks than you can believe and a 7,600 gallon vat of green slime.

Jimmy Fallon to Tiger Woods: Thank You!!!
Tiger Woods made a rare television appearance last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon – the golfer’s first such interview since the late 2009 “incident.”
We don’t have to get into Rachel Uchitel, the car crash and everything else. Fallon started off asking Woods what he’s been up to the last year and a half.
“Oh, nothing, nothing… Playing bad golf,” the champion said, smiling.
“From a comedian’s stand-point and my monologue writers, thank you,” Fallon said, speaking for all of us. “Your awful pain, we laughed at your pain.”

Mel Gibson Pleads No Contest to Battery; Oksana Grigorieva Cleared in Extortion Investigation
The L.A. County District Attorney filed a single misdemeanor battery charge against Mel Gibson today. The actor, as expected, pleaded no contest.
The misdemeanor specifically targets someone who cohabits or has a child with the alleged victim, but is less severe than felony domestic abuse.
Mel will not receive jail time for the alleged attack on Oksana Grigorieva, but will continue to undergo counseling and be on 36 months’ probation.
One of the terms of probation – he cannot use violence against anyone. Mel may continue to have “peaceful contact” with Oksana going forward.

George Clooney to Receive Humanitarian Award at Emmys
George Clooney already has an Oscar under his handsome belt.
But we have a feeling the Emmy Award he’s been assured of will mean more.
Earlier today, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced it will present the charitable actor with its Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at this year’s ceremony on August 29.
Citing Clooney’s efforts as the head of Hope for Haiti, as well as his fundraising for victims of Hurricane Katrina and his involvement with Darfur, John Shaffner – chairman and chief executive of the TV academy -
Joe Jonas Performs Charity Work, Plays Concert in Africa
It’s not enough for Joe Jonas to be handsome and talented.
He also must be incredibly giving.
As part of the Cambio Cares project, the singer recently spent time in Africa. He performed a concert for underprivileged kids there and also took on a considerable amount of charity work in the region.
Like Sandra Bullock this week, and Angelina Jolie always, it’s refreshing to see a celebrity using his/her status for good, isn’t it?
