Dennis Hopper’s estate bumps price of late actor’s home 25 percent to $6.5 million
The late Dennis Hopper’s Venice Beach compound is back on the market, but now for $6.5 million. This new price, despite bleak times in real estate sales, is an increase of $1.4 million – more than 25 percent – on the original asking price. And that can’t have been that appealing to buyers since the house didn’t sell. This spread itself hasn’t changed – it’s still 10,000 square feet of living space, which includes a main house and three two-story condos.

In sad news of an unwelcome loss it’s just been announced that country stars Lady Antebellum have canceled tonight’s concert in Ohio after a sudden death in the family.
The Grammy-winning trio released a statement a few minutes ago saying lead singer Hillary Scott’s beloved grandmother had died and Hillary was consequently too emotional to proceed with the show due to happen tonight at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater.
It’s now been postponed until August 10.

As you may have seen yesterday, Ryan Rottman was arrested in Hollywood for DUI. It turns out he was drinking with some actor friends including Zac Efron, and people now say Zac shares the blame for Ryan’s arrest.
Ryan was drinking at Dillon’s Irish Pub on Hollywood Boulevard with Zac, Rumer Willis [daughter of Bruce] and a few other pals, and this merry band is said to have downed no less than seven Kamikaze shots, eight mixed drinks and three or four beers. Then Ryan got into a car.

Less than two weeks after ‘Jackass’ star Ryan Dunn and a friend died there, the site of their fatal crash has been defaced by vandals.
West Goshen Police Captain, Joseph Gleason says Pennsylvania police are aware of the damage and are now working to clean graffiti including the words ‘Ritch P***k” from the barrier through which Ryan’s Porsche crashed on June 20th.
But the Captain holds out little hope of detaining those responsible for this delinquent stupidity as the site draws a great many fans:
“At any given time you have 10, 20, 30 people there,” he tells TMZ.

After a decent interval to allow fans to grieve, G4 has announced plans to air the so-far unseen episodes of ‘Proving Ground’ as a salute to the late Ryan Dunn.
“Ryan was an incredible talent who will be missed tremendously by his fans, including G4 viewers,” G4′s president Neal Tiles told THR. ”With the support of Ryan’s family, we’ve decided to air the remaining episodes and give fans the opportunity to watch this series he was so passionate about.”
The cable house yanked the show off the air after the news of Ryan’s death broke on June 20th, but they say it will now return to its 8pm

Exactly two years to the day since the world lost Michael Jackson reports are emerging that fans queuing for a tour of the home rented by the singer during his time in Las Vegas have been subjected to gun play.
Witnesses report multiple gun shots were fired approximately 3 doors away from the $3-million, 15,000-SqFt mansion where Jackson stayed while playing his final Las Vegas concerts . No injuries are reported and police are now at the scene.
As officers approached the source of the disturbance one was attacked by a dog, but the dog was quickly subdued.

In a tasteful service mercifully free of the Westboro Church, family and friends gathered in Westchester Pennsylvania this morning for a memorial service to remember ‘Jackass’ star, Ryan Dunn.
Among those in attendance were Ryan’s close friend, Bam Margera and his wife Melissa, and Johnny Knoxville engaged the audience with tales of good time and pranks shared with Dunn.
Also there were ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ stars Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney and Bam’s folks, Phil and April Margera, who regarded Ryan like a son.

But his pain never was expressed in full through his keyboard. Earlier, local news Fox Philly talked with Margera at the site of Dunn’s accident in which he’s visibly extremely upset. Roger Ebert backtracks, defends ‘Jackass’ tweet
In a valiant effort to extinguish a fire he perhaps should not have had the absence of taste to ignite in the first place, Roger Ebert now says he was “too quick to tweet“ about the death of Ryan Dunn yesterday.
Writing from the safety of his blog the 69-year old critic explained his reasons for tweeting;
“To begin with, I offer my sympathy to Ryan Dunn’s family and friends, and to those of Zachary Hartwell, who also died in the crash,” he writes. “I mean that sincerely. It is tragic to lose a loved one.”

It’s a sad day for stuntmen everywhere. TMZ and WMMR 93.3 are reporting that Jackass star Ryan Dunn died in a vehicle accident around 3 am today in Pennsylvania. The mom of his co-star, Bam Margera, confirmed to TMZ earlier today of the accident.

Documentary director Tim Hetherington killed in Libya
(HMG Celebrity News) – Director Tim Hetherington, a four time winner of the world press photographer award, was killed Wednesday along with American photojournalist Chris Hondros, in the midst of heavy fighting in Libya, The Washington Post reports.
Oscar-nominated Hetherington, 40, was in the war-torn country with Pulitzer Prize-nominated Getty photojournalist Chris Hondros, 41, and both were killed as Moammar Gaddafi’s forces continued their siege on rebels in the city of Misrata.
