New Catching Fire Posters: Victory!
Victory is theirs!
In two new posters for this November’s Catching Fire, Jennifer Lawrence (as Katniss) and Josh Hutcherson (as Peeta) pose as the victors of the 74th annual Hunger Games.
The story kicks off with the pair embarking on its victory tour, unaware that President Snow has a surprise in store for them at the 75th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Quarter Quell.

Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence and hit theaters on November 22. We cannot wait.

Sam Claflin: Hot Enough to Play Finnick Odair?
In Catching Fire, Finnick Odair is described as extraordinarily confident and attractive.
He beds ladies in the Capitol, he wears very little clothing, he handles a trident like a champion.
But in light of Entertainment Weekly giving fans their first look at Sam Claflin in this role, many have voiced their complaints online, most of which go something like this:

Welcome to the Arena, Jeffrey Wright.
In the latest piece of Catching Fire casting news, the veteran actor has signed on for this Hunger Games sequel as Beetee, the District 3 Male Tribute earns the nickname “Volts” due to his electronics expertise.
A Tony Award winner, Wright joins an impressive cast that is led by returning stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Jush Hutcherson.
Newbies in the franchise, whose follow-up comes out on November 22, 2013, include: Sam Claflin, Stephanie Leigh Schlund, Maria Howell, Alan Ritchson, Amanda Plummer and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

Stephanie Leigh Schlund Cast as Cashmere in Catching Fire
Another day, another Catching Fire role cast.
Stephanie Leigh Schlund – a little known actress who appeared with Miley Cyrus in The Last Song – has signed on for the character of Cashmere, the District 1 Tribute serves as a the foil for Katniss in the Quarter Quell, teaming with her brother Gloss (Alan Ritchson), both of whom won previous Hunger Games.
In consecutive years, no less.
With director Francis Lawrence behind the camera, Catching Fire begins production this fall.
It will create lines down the block of every theater in America starting on November 22, 2013.
Meta Golding Cast as Enobaria in Catching Fire
Meta Golding is the latest name added to the cast of Catching Fire.
The actress – who has appeared on such shows as CSI: Miami, Burn Notice and House – will come on board The Hunger Games sequel in the role of Enobaria, the District 2 tribute who won her competition by tearing open the throat of her rival with her teeth.
Golding joins a cast of newcomers – who will join Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and others – that includes:
- Jena Malone as Johanna Mason.
- Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee.

Amanda Plummer has signed on for a role in Catching Fire.
The veteran actress and former Golden Globe Award nominee will star in The Hunger Games sequel as Wiress, an eccentric Tribute who becomes an important fellow player/friend to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss.
A Broadway star, Plummer is likely best known to film fans for her role as “Honey Bunny” in Pulp Fiction.
While Catching Fire fans continue to await movie news on who will play Finnick, other characters are being snatched up.

Hunter Parrish Responds to Finnick Odair Rumors
Hunter Parrish came oh-so-close to being cast as Peeta in The Hunger Games, so the actor knows to be careful this time around. He’s trying not to get his hopes up.
However, the Weeds star is aware fans have started a campaign to attach him to Catching Fire in the role of Finnick Odair and he’s attempt to remain humble, but…
“I think you just kind of step back, and if it happens, it happens,” Parrish tells MTV of the rumor. “I’m not going to really spend too much time thinking about it, but I’d love to… I’m a fan of the books. I think there’s fantastic actors that would probably be better.

A few days after word spread that Robert Pattinson was being considered for the role of Finnick Odar – a Hunger Games character with whom this actor shares nary a physical trait – in Catching Fire, the handsome star has come out and made it clear:

According to Movie Fanatic, the Twilight Saga star is under consideration for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire, the wildly anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games.

Jennifer Lawrence Confirmed as Katniss Everdeen
The casting rumor has become an official reality for Jennifer Lawrence.
The Wrap reports that this Oscar nominee has been confirmed as Katniss Everdeen, the heroine at the center of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel series. Lawrence will star in a planned film trilogy that will include The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay.
The role of Katniss caps what has been an incredible year for Lawrence. The 20-year was a relative unknown just a few months ago and then rose prominence in Winter’s Bone.
