The hills will soon be alive with the sound of … Carrie Underwood!
The most successful American Idol winner of all-time has signed on to star in next year’s NBC remake of The Sound of Music.
“Speaking for everyone at NBC, we couldn’t be happier to have the gifted Carrie Underwood take up the mantle of the great Maria von Trapp,” said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, which will air the three-hour movie in late 2013.
Julie Andrews made this role famous in the 1965 film that won the Oscar for Best Picture.

With season 11 of American Idol underway, we have exciting news from the most successful show champion in history:
Carrie Underwood will soon release a new album and is preparing fans for that event via the following video tease. It hypes the release of “Good Girl,” the first single off the CD, which will be available on February 23.
“I’m so excited – I love this song,” Carrie says below. “I think it’s going to blow you guys away and… I cannot wait for you to hear it!”

[HMG Celebrity News] – Sex and the City is one of HBO’s biggest successes. The first movie was a hit, but despite last year’s turgid sequel the story’s not over. There are rumors of plans for a prequel, and Sarah Jessica Parker would be replaced by Blake Lively from ‘Gossip Girl.’
The suits in charge at New Line, who made the last movie, are said to be in talks with ‘SATC’ author Candace Bushnell about adapting her new book ‘The Carrie Diaries’ and its companion ‘Summer And The City’ as an ‘SATC’ prequel, and Blake is the favorite to play the young Carrie.

Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively may soon be taking on the role of Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to the popular TV series Sex and the City.
New Line Cinema execs are rumored to be in talks with the shows creator Candace Bushnell about adapting her prequel The Carrie Diaries for the big screen, a series that focuses on Carrie’s teenage years in the early 1980s.
If the prequel moves forward it could spawn other movies if successful, for example Candace just finished writing Summer And The City which follows Carrie as she movies to New York City at the ripe young age of 19.
