A trio of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has been released, one of which features Johnny Depp in this iconic role and the others showcasing new characters to the franchise:
Penelope Cruz as Angelia, Blackbeard’s daughter and the pirate Blackbird himself, played by Ian McShane.

Captain Jack is (almost) back.
On May 20, Johnny Depp will reprise the role that truly made him an icon, as he steps back into the swashbuckling shoes of Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. We’ve got an early look at a scene from the movie here:
The fourth installment of this franchise will find Jack and Barbossa seeking the Fountain of Youth.
Johnny Depp says Disney execs hated ‘gay’ Captain Sparrow

[HMG Celebrity News] – The three ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies so far released have earned Disney more than $2.7-billion worldwide. But Johnny Depp say those in charge at the mouse-house had their doubts about Captain Jack Sparrow.
“They couldn’t stand him. They just couldn’t stand him,” Depp tells Vanity Fair. “Michael Eisner, the head of Disney at the time, was even quoted as saying, ‘He’s ruining the movie!’”
Some of the Disney suits even asked Johnny if Jack had ‘issues.’
“I had Disney-ites going, ‘What’s wrong with him? Is he some kind of weird simpleton?…By the way, is he gay?”
