Bill Maher on California Tax Rate: Liberals, You May Actually Lose Me!

Even Bill Maher is feeling the sting of California’s new income tax rates.

“Liberals,” he said on a recent broadcast, “you could actually lose me.”

He made the comments during a panel discussion of U.S. budget policy that included MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who blasted Rep. Paul Ryan’s proposal.

“The Ryan budget is a document that says the big problems in American right now are that rich people do not have enough money,” said Maddow.

Maher responded, somewhat uncharacteristically: “You know what? Rich people – I’m sure you’d agree with this – do pay the freight in this

“They’ve been separated for several months. This was a hard decision for both of them to make,” says a source close to Diane Lane and Josh Brolin.

“The relationship just ran its course.”

The pair, who married in a 2004 ceremony at Brolin’s California ranch, were

Pro-Dorner Protestors Gather Outside LAPD Headquarters

A handful of protestors took to the streets outside LAPD headquarters in California yesterday, showing support not so much for the actions of Christopher Dorner, but for the arguments he made against the department.

Dorner died on Tuesday of what authorities now say was a self-inflicted gun shot after he was cornered in a cabin in Big Bear, CA.

He had been the subject of a massive manhunt following the alleged killing of at least three people, a rampage he claimed on Facebook was tied to his dismissal from the police force in 2009.

The protestors say they do not condone Dorner’s

The LAPD has moved back into a “normal state of police operation” after Tuesday’s Christopher Dorner gun battle, a signal that the manhunt is over.

Cops won’t officially declare Christopher Dorner dead until the tests are run on the corpse believed to be inside what is left of a burned down California cabin.

Still, every indication is that Dorner was inside when the cabin went up in smoke. A rep for the police department says the city is no longer on tactical alert.

Dorner met his fate following a frightening shootout in which he exchanged fire with police and barricaded himself

Victoria Azarenka may have won today’s Australian Open semifinal match against Sloane Stephens – but many in the tennis world are calling the top-ranked player a giant loser.

Here’s why:

Victoria Azarenka Interview

Up 6-1, 5-4, Azarenka was clearly out of sorts in the second set, screaming when she missed shots and slamming balls in anger when she lost games.

Amanda Bynes Settles With Hit-and-Run Victims; Charges Dropped, City Attorney PISSED

Amanda Bynes has reached financial settlements with both of her hit-and-run victims from earlier this year, and the L.A. City Attorney’s office is far from pleased.

As you surely heard, the troubled star was charged with two counts of hit-and-run stemming from separate 2012 in which she hit other people’s cars, then bailed.

Bynes has since struck a financial deal with both sets of victims, however, and her attorney then convinced a judge to throw out the criminal charges against her.

The decision infuriated the L.A. City Attorney’s Office, to put it mildly.
