Forget blue jeans for a moment. Neil Diamond will be spending forever with Katie McNeil.
The legendary singer tied the knot with his manager yesterday, exchanging vows in front of family members and friends in Los Angeles.
The 71-year old artist made news in September now just by getting engaged to McNeil, but by announcing it on Twitter via the following message:
“Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you’re the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well.”

American Idol Results: Another Surprise?

Following the most surprising American Idol vote of the season, the top seven gathered once again this week to learn which of them would be going home.
After two performances from each of the contestants on Wednesday – along with a song tonight by Kris Allen and a tribute to Dick Clark – it came down to a bottom three of Hollie Cavanagh, Elise Testone and, for the first time so far, Colton Dixon.

The ESPY Awards have tracked down one of the fewest and one of the proudest men in Hollywood to serve as host of this year’s ceremony.
Former Marine/Daily Show correspondent/Hangover co-star Rob Riggle has been tapped to takeover for Seth Meyers, who emceed this sports entertainment event for the past two years.
Other ESPY host have included Samuel Jackson (1999, 2001, 2002, and 2009) Lance Armstrong (2006), Justin Timberlake (2008).

Levon Helm, Drummer For The Band, Dies at 71

Levon Helm, the legendary drummer for The Band, died today. He was 71.
“Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon,” his rep confirmed.
“He was surrounded by family, friends and fellow band members and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.”
Earlier this week, Levon’s wife Sandy and their daughter announced on his official website that he was “in the final stages of his battle with cancer.”

A hearty congratulations and a big hug are in order for Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer: The famous couple is expecting its first child!
A rep for the twosome has confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly, saying the 29-year old Paquin is due this fall.
She and Moyer met on the set of HBO’s True Blood, which returns with new episodes on June 10, and were married in Malibu in 2010. The pregnancy is Paquin’s first, while Moyer, 42, has a pair of children from previous relationships.

Miley Cyrus was hospitalized last night, but fear not, fans: she’ll be okay.
A rep for the singer/actress says Miley “cut her finger” while cooking and was spotted walking around today with thick white gauze around her arm as a result.
“[She] had to get a few stitches,” the source adds. “She’s doing fine.”
Cyrus was joined in the emergency room by her mother, her grandmother and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Just staring into the latter’s eyes must have helped the young star feel better.

Bill Cosby has weighed in on the Trayvon Martin case, but NOT on the subject of race.
The famed comedian told the Washington Times that firearms in the wrong hands are the problem, and that neighborhood watch volunteers like George Zimmerman, who shot and killed the unarmed teen, should not be allowed to carry guns.
