Radio Host DJ Megatron Fatally Shot In NYC

(HMG Celebrity News) – Radio and TV personality DJ Megatron, was shot to death early Sunday, his manager and police said. According to his manager Regg Rocc, Megatron was shot in the chest and killed while heading to a store near his home in Staten Island at around 2 a.m. on Sunday. No arrests have been made in the shooting. the 32-year-old deejay, born Corey McGriff, worked at a number of hip-hop and R&B stations, starting in New York (98.7 Kiss FM and Hot 97) and Boston (WBOT Hot 97.7). He moved on to Philadelphia, where he spent 2.5 years at 103.9 FM the Beat in the early 2000s

With his tour dates in Detroit and Chicago selling out in mere minutes, Charlie Sheen has added five new dates to his upcoming Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option Show.

Steven Tyler Doesn’t Want American Idol Contestants To Sing Aerosmith Songs

Steven Tyler may love himself a little too much, according to a recent statement made to TMZ, Tyler doesn’t want American Idol contestants to sing his bands songs.
When asked if contestants get bonus points for singer an Aerosmith song Tyler respondsed with “Never, I look at them twice and say don’t even try it, don’t even.”
Oddly enough Tyler seemed to enjoy James Durbin singing “Dream On” during the audition round of Idol, but perhaps he was just being nice after producers inevitably told him the kid was going to make it into the Top 24.

Glee Announces Summer Tour Dates For 2011

Wanna make sure you get your fill of Glee during the summer months? Fox’s popular TV show has announced various cities they will be touring in Summer 2011.
Unlike their massive 5 city tour in 2011, the group of singers has extended their campaign in 2011 to 16 cities throughout the US and Canada.
The tour will kick off May 21 in Las Vegas and then travel throughout several large US locations.

When Jenny McCarthy, who co-hosted ABC’s Rockin New Year’s Eve, kissed a man next to her in Times Square at midnight, some viewers thought a total stranger had received the shock of a lifetime.

Steven Tyler Butchers National Anthem At Boston Bruins Game

Remember when Rosanne Barr butchered the National Anthem? At least she knew she was killing it on purpose, this week Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler sung the anthem and completely mutilated it.
Tyler was singing at a Boston Bruins game and as if the NHL doesn’t have enough problems with finding viewers, they now have to find the one’s who went running from the hills after hearing his awful performance.
Sadly his performance came during the teams Thursday Season opener…not a very good way to start a new hockey season.

The lady in question is 27-year old Nicole ‘Hoopz’ Alexander – winner of the 2008 season of VH1’s reality hit, ‘I Love Money,’ and a contestant on ‘Flavor of Love.’

[HMG] – American Idol scours the nation for new stars aged 16-28. Which explains why they have just apparently signed 62-year old Aerosmith front-man Steven Tyler as their new judge.
Steven is seen as the latest potential replacement for the departing Ellen DeGeneres. Also in the running was Jennifer Lopez. But her demands for $20-million a year, plus her own hair and makeup team and her own “dressing room compound,” make her unlikely to land the prime job.
But sources close to the media-friendly game of musical chairs tell THR that Tyler is the new judge. Fox had no comment.

Philip Markoff, Accused Craigslist Killer, Commits Suicide in Jail

In a shocking conclusion to an already tragic story, the man known as the Craigslist Killer committed suicide in a Boston jail, according to authorities.
Philip Markoff, a former medical student who was accused of killing a masseuse he met through Craigslist, was found unresponsive in his cell Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at about 10:15 a.m.
The death is still being investigated, but Markoff was alone in his jail cell. Evidence indicates he took his own life, according to a statement by both Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis and Suffolk County D.A. Daniel F. Conley.

(HMG) – Troubled country singer Mindy McCready, is recovering in a hospital Tuesday after police responded to an overdose call at a Florida home.
In an e-mail, McCready’s publicist confirmed the singer was in the hospital, and said the diagnosis has not been confirmed.
“The family asks for your respect of their privacy and appreciates your thoughts and prayers at this time,” wrote publicist Kat Atwood.
