Jabari Parker, Star High School Recruit, Commits to Duke

Folks in Durham, North Carolina have reason to celebrate today.
Jabari Parker, considered by many to be the best high school senior in the nation, announced this afternoon that he will attend Duke University in 2013, instantly boosting the Blue Devils’ title chances a year from now.
Parker is a 6’8″ forward who attends Simeon Career Academy in Chicago.
His all-around game has been compared to players such as Grant Hill and he’s considered a surefire top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
In the end, Parker selected Duke over Michigan State, BYU, Florida and Stanford.

Their divorce is amicable and we don’t normally like to read into things like this, but Katy Perry’s new song, “Part of Me,” sure sounds like a dig at Russell Brand.
The newly Katy started off her 2012 Grammy Awards performance singing her hit “E.T.”, but then the music suddenly stopped and she burst into “Part of Me.”
Aggressively, she sang lyrics like:

In his opening statement in the the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, attorney Ed Chernoff told the jury Michael Jackson killed himself.

Snooki of Jersey Shore fame stepped out last night with blue eyes, a big change from her usual dark brown. If it weren’t for the fact that she remains a 4′ orange oompa loompa-like being, we might not have recognized her!
The reality star also known as Nicole Polizzi tweeted that she thought she looked like “a vampire” with the new contacts in. It’s true, we could see her on The Vampire Diaries (provided she gets devoured by a werewolf in short order).

Last month, Will Ferrell made a Funny or Die video demanding Conan shave off his ginger beard or Will would do it for him when he came on his show May 2.
The comedian made good on his threat Monday night. As O’Brien sat waiting, Ferrell took a sip of “the blue stuff” used to disinfect combs and went to town!

Lily Allen & Sam Cooper: Engaged!

A terrible 2010 has reportedly ended in joyous fashion for Lily Allen: the British singer is engaged to Sam Cooper!
According to The Daily Mail, Cooper shocked Allen with a proposal in Bali on Christmas Day. A source tells the newspaper: “‘It all came out of the blue, but Lily was overwhelmed and they are both overjoyed. They can look to the future now.”
Allen went through a couple of major obstacles in 2010. She suffered through her second miscarriage and was also hospitalized with a blood condition.
But things are now looking up for Lily and we wish her and Sam the very best!

The 2010 Teen Choice Awards, held at the Gibson Amphitheater on Sunday in Universal City, Calif., and airing tonight on Fox, were filled with big names.
Sandra Bullock, for one. She didn’t walk the blue carpet, but accepted the award for choice movie actress for her Oscar-winning role in The Blind Side.
“I don’t know if you should bring attention to this. Some things are better left unsaid. It’s been awhile since I was a teen,” she said. “I’m so blessed and lucky.”
