Texas Chainsaw 3D Slays Box Office Competition

Texas Chainsaw 3D sliced and diced its box office competition over the weekend, bringing in $23 on Friday and Saturday and taking Hollywood’s top spot.
Django Unchained fell 33 percent from its opening weekend, dipping to just under $21 million and falling to second place.
It’s on pace to out-earn Inglorious Basterds, Quentin Tarantino’s previous highest grossest film.

Jack Reacher Premiere Delayed Out of Respect for Connecticut Shooting

Tom Cruise will not be walking the red carpet in Pittsburgh tonight.
Paramount has announced that it’s delayed the official premiere of Jack Reacher in that city, out of respect for the unspeakable events of the Connecticut shooting in Newtown yesterday.
Jack Reacher TrailerSaid the studio in a statement:
“Due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and out of honor and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing tomorrow’s Pittsburgh premiere of ‘Jack Reacher.’ Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones.”

Stars, they really are just like us! The Spears sisters were spotted shopping together at a Target in Los Angeles this past Sunday.
Britney and Jamie Lynn were accompanied by Britney’s two sons Preston,7 and Jayden, 6. The X Factor judge and her younger sis looked relaxed and happy as they exited with a cart full of purchases.

In case you haven’t heard, Liam Neeson has a particular set of skills.
When it comes to Taken 2, those skills involve a nearly record-setting opening and complete domination of the box office.
Taken 2 TrailerThe sequel banked $50 million over the weekend, good enough for the third highest October opening ever and the biggest haul of all-time for a PG-13 movie on its first Friday and Saturday of this month.

Hotel Transylvania Wins Box Office, Sets September Record

A whole lot of film fans moved in to Hotel Transylvania this weekend.
The animated flick – which features the voices of Adam Sandler and Selena Gomez, among others - earned $43 million in its first three days, according to studio estimates.
The figure blows away the previous record for a September opening, which stood at $35.6 million buy Sweet Home Alabama in 2002.
Looper, another VERY well-reviewed movie, also fared well.

The multiple-time Emmy Award nominee announced today that he’s engaged to Justin Mikita.
“It’s true, I popped the big Q!” the actor says in the following TietheKnot.org video, with his now-fiancee jumping in to exclaim: “I said yes!”

Having previously seen Gaga’s ARTPOP tattoo (an allusion to her new album title), fans were treated to the first look at the newest tattoo on the singer, who is still promoting 2011′s smash Born This Way in Europe.
Gaga captioned the pic below: “New Tat. Stamp of His Mermaid.”
The 26-year-old Mother Monster later added, “Thanks Hank and @amstattoomuseum for my New Ink!! We miss you already, see you at the ball!”

Kim Kardashian has finally confirmed her relationship with Kanye West.
Yes, the rapper has appeared on her reality show. And, yes, they’ve been snapped holding hands on many occasions.
But Kardashian has yet to actually utter the B-word when it comes to Kanye, until her most recent Twit pic, which Kim posted last night and which includes the caption “BF Time.”
Kardashian has been Tweeting up a photo storm in recent days and weeks, showing off her breasts… fueling wedding rumors… and posing in a bikini. Very often posing in a bikini.
So at least this image provided some actual, quasi news.

Deneeta Pope, Paul Ryan Ex-Girlfriend, Wishes V.P. Hopeful Well Despite Political Differences

Deneeta Pope, the African-American ex-girlfriend of Republican V.P. nominee Paul Ryan, wants nothing to do with the upcoming Presidential election.
She’s also a Barack Obama supporter, though she wishes Ryan well.
Ryan mentioned in an interview years ago that he’s experienced racism in part because he has a black sister-in-law as well as a black ex-girlfriend.
This came up again recently after some of Ryan’s policies have been criticized – fairly or otherwise – as detrimental to the African-American community.
